How can I make splitting with my partner as painless as possible for our daughter? – The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: I WANT to end my relationship with my partner.

I need to know how to sort everything out so it is as painless and hassle-free as possible.

We’re both 26 and I want to move out of our flat and move into a place of my own, but I’m scared she will struggle financially if the mortgage on our flat is solely in her name.

Will I be able to see our daughter whenever I want or will I be restricted to weekends?

I’ve never dealt with anything like this before.

DEIDRE SAYS: Sorry, you have put the cart before the horse.

There is no way you can split up with your partner and the mother of your child and it be anything like painless and hassle-free unless you have done a lot of the emotional heavy-lifting first.

What has led you to want to part? Can the issues not be resolved? Your daughter will inevitably suffer from you parting.
