Earlier this week, we told you how an 82-year-old British pensioner was being kept apart from her much younger lover after he returned to Egypt.
Iris Jones, from Weston-super-Mare in Somerset, became a tabloid favourite after going into graphic detail about her romps on This Morning.
She met Egyptian Mohamed, 36, on Facebook in 2019 before they married one year later.
Their age difference is 46 years and last month Iris wrote: “Love is… Knowing you look like s**t after a days housework and gardening, without a scrap of make up on dressed in my scruff!
"After a month's absence, my wonderful husband will welcome me just just the way I am, because that's what love is all about.”
She added: “Welcome home, Mohamed. Missing you this past month has made me realise what a priceless gem you are.
"This rough diamond of a wife will be more appreciative of you in the future.”
With this in mind, we take a look at other examples of extreme age gap relationships.
Mind the gap
Edna Martin, 83, and her husband Simon, 44, have been married for 14 years and still enjoy a racy sex life.
The pair often attract stares and they have no problem putting on a show, including bum pinching and bra twanging in public.
Edna told Leicestershire Live last year: “We are still intimate in the bedroom as much as any couple in love.
“We’ll often stop in the street and have a damn good kiss – I’ve never felt conscious of the age gap in public.
“I kiss Simon’s neck and pinch his bum in the supermarket – he will twang the back of my bra in the queue.”
Despite Edna being accused by trolls of being a “paedophile”, the Weston-super-Mare couple have proved doubters wrong since renewing their vows in 2015.
Age is just a number
Roxana’s family refused to go to her wedding – after she agreed to marry a man 33 years her senior.
But despite not having her family’s approval, she wed grandad Jonathan Eubanks, 57, even though he is a decade older than her mum.
Roxana, 24, met Jonathan, who has two daughters younger than her, when she was 21.
The pair, who instantly bonded at a party in California, now showcase their relationship on TikTok under the name TheBlendedGap where they have 27,000 followers.
And speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Jonathan said : “We can’t go anywhere without getting the side eye. We get it everywhere we go.
“At first it made Roxana feel really uneasy whereas I’m like, ‘let them look’.
“She is now more comfortable now than ever, especially since getting married. Our relationship changed overnight after the wedding.
“It made her feel like this really is going to happen and I think she was worried that I might not get married and she would suffer an unending humiliation with her family.”
Teenage dream
Gary Hardwick was just 17 when he said the words ‘I do’ to a then 71-year-old OAP.
His wife Amelda is now 77 and the unlikely duo remain happily married.
And their bonkers 53-year age gap has proved a popular hit on raunchy subscription site OnlyFans.
The US couple share an “explicit” account and announcing the news, Gary wrote: “My wife and I are new to OnlyFans, we have a 53-year age gap. She’s 76 and I’m 23.
“We have fully explicit content on our OF. We’ve reached top 10% in a week so far.”
And speaking on their fourth wedding anniversary, Gary, now 23, said: “Four years ago on this very day, I gave my heart and my soul to the woman who steals it over and over again every day.
"Until the day I met you I never knew that it was possible to love someone so deeply.
"We've been through ups and downs together that we always overcame, looking back, it truly only made us stronger.”
Glam-ma
Super nan Cheryl McGregor, 61, also makes saucy OnlyFans content with her toy boy lover Quran McCain.
Her hubby is 37 years younger and he first met his wife when he was working in her son’s fast food restaurant aged 15.
They started dating years later and they now have two million followers on TikTok.
Quran recently said: “I have never felt the way I feel for anyone like I do Cheryl.
"When I was 23 we connected on a more spiritual level, which allowed us to get to know each other and bond and that was where our love really got strong.”
His family has been supportive of the unusual match and he now charges $11 (approx £8.37) a month for OnlyFans access.
Wise beyond her years?
Bernd Hasenbank, 72, met Julia Strauß, 31, in April 2019 and he said her physical appearance was an instant attraction for him.
But the pensioner, who has three kids with two different women, said he soon fell in love with Julia for who she was on the inside.
And speaking of their first encounter, Julia recalled: “We got to know each other in a special stillness seminar in April 2019.
"A few years before, I had this feeling that I would meet a man in his 70s and have a very strong connection [with].
"Leading up to the seminar, I started getting myself in a tizzy and when I sat on a bench and watched everyone come through, I saw Bernd come in and sit down next to me and it was as if I knew him from a past life.
"Over the weekend of the seminar, it was clear there was something there and we connected."
Bernd, also from Frankfurt, Germany, added: “Her physical appearance attracted me a lot at first but things soon got much deeper than that, and I discovered a wide field of inner beauty.
"I love very much that this young woman is at a similar state of self-knowledge and honesty which is very lovable and at the same time, is a great challenge for my inner processes."
