Fans went wild after an image of the thank you note was shared online

The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in a glittering gold gown by Jenny Packham.

Inspired by the iconic image of Jill Masterson painted in gold and laying on James Bond’s bed in the 1964 film ‘Goldfinger’, the £4,000 gown is covered with metallic folded sequins and crystals on a base of glitter tulle.

A floor-length embellished cape is draped over the shoulders and down the back to complete a truly scene-stealing design.

It is part of a Jenny Packham capsule collection celebrating 60 years of James Bond.

It comes as the royals finish up their tour of the Caribbean, which was carried out at the behest of William’s grandmother the Queen and intended to strengthen the UK’s ties with Commonwealth countries as the queen marks 70 years on the throne.

The couple visited Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas.
