Boogie the Blue Nose Pitbull is shown nervously standing at the edge of pool watching his owner, Anthony Spinner, a personal trainer, and friends celebrating the Fourth of July. The 25-year-old from from Los Angeles, California, then disappears underwater pretending to drown and reaching out for his beloved canine.
Visibly upset, the eight-month-old pup quickly runs around the pool before jumping in to ‘save’ Anthony.
The two are then shown embracing in the water with Boogie kissing his owner while everyone cheers.
Unbeknownst to Boogie, the stunt had already been planned to see what his reaction would be if the situation was real.
“I was kind of shocked,” Anthony said. “I didn’t think he was going to do it. He never swam before, but he was swimming perfectly fine.”
Anthony said Boogie was relieved once he got to him. “His main goal was to see what was going on,” he said. “He was really happy and tried to smother me.”
The 26 second clip was uploaded to Twitter the following day which has now been viewed over four million times.

Anthony then Tweeted: “The best part is he has never swam before and jumped to “save” me.”
“I wanted to see if he would do it or not.”
