Mum shares secret hack to remove scorch marks from your iron – and it will cost you just 29p

IRONING clothes is something that many of us can’t stand.

But what’s worse is getting scorch marks on your iron – they can be a huge pain to clean.

And they are even more of a nightmare if you only notice them when it’s too late, after they've left a stain across your freshly washed clothes.

Ever since cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, otherwise known as Sophie Hinchliffe, took to Instagram, cleaning tips and tricks have become more and more popular.

There’s even Facebook groups where cleaning fanatics share their hacks for getting their homes spotless.

And the latest hack focuses on removing the scorch marks from your iron, without the faff.

Posting on a Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips and Tricks Facebook page, one woman, named Vicky Holberry asked fellow cleaners for getting her iron looking clean again. 

Luckily for you, Mrs Hinch fans came to the rescue and shared their quick, simple trick for transforming your dirty iron. 

Not only is it an ‘easy’ method, but don’t worry, you won’t have to worry about spending loads of money on fancy cleaning products.

In fact, with this clever hack, you’ll only need to spend 29p.

There were a variety of different techniques suggested, but the most popular responses suggested using paracetamol.

After cleaning fans advised Vicky to use paracetamol to clean her iron, she gave it a go, and was very impressed with the results.

Vicky said: “I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to comment on my previous post.

“Who would have guessed paracetamol could be used to clean an iron??!!

“I love this group!”

If you fancy giving this hack a go, Vicky reveals how to do it correctly.

She explained: “Just use an uncoated paracetamol tablet, held in a pair of tweezers. 

“Allow the iron to heat, and rub the paracetamol in circles, the burn marks just wipe away!!”

Vicky isn’t the only one impressed with this clever hack – the trick has been endorsed by countless cleaning fans on the Facebook page.

One person said: “Best hack ever, can’t believe how many products I’d tried before finding this out – so satisfying how easy it just melts away!”
