After the Jordan Centre Court became one of Jordan Brand‘s most talked-about in line models of the year thanks to its inclusion in The Last Dance, the simple low-top sneaker is now set for a retail release. Clean, crisp and unassuming, interest around the Centre Court was piqued by Michael Jordan himself during The Last Dance and furthered by pairs seeded to Jumpman family members like Edison Chen.
Uppers are largely constructed of smooth white leather, with the rounded toebox and simple midfoot completely devoid of branding. Signature detail is provided by a quilted pattern that replicates the wings from the Air Jordan ball-and-wings logo, placed around the rear quarter and the heel. Stone gray suede is used on the tongue and heel, both of which offer debossed branding — the former an Air Jordan spellout, the latter a full ball-and-wings embellishment. Insoles are stamped with a Zoom Air badge, meaning the cushioning setup is present in the heel, forefoot or both. Down below, a white Air Jordan 1-style midsole and outsole round off the look.
The Jordan Centre Court is scheduled to release via Nike SNKRS Japan on December 15, and is priced at a somewhat steep ¥16,500 JPY (approximately $159 USD), though this may be inclusive of sales tax. Two more colorways will reportedly release over the holiday season as well, though this has yet to be confirmed by Nike.
Elsewhere in the high-flying world of Jordan Brand, interested parties can now invest in Michael Jordan’s game-worn and signed Air Jordan 1s from the infamous “Shattered Backboard” game.
