A DENTAL hygienist has revealed that in order to save money, you should share a toothbrush with those in your household. 

Jessica Anne, who was on reality show Married at First Sight back in 2022, is also a dental hygienist.

Jessica regularly posts clips about working at a dental surgery on TikTok, under the username @jesspotter_xx, where she has amassed 47.6k followers.

In her most recent video, Jessica revealed that for those wanting to save money, they should share a toothbrush with the people in their household.

She posted her video with the caption ‘SHARING A TOOTHBRUSH IN 2023 IS FINE!!!’ as she revealed what she recommends to her patients.

“Now this is something I actually say to a lot of patients.

“I always recommend getting an electric toothbrush but I know at the moment with everything that’s going on, it’s a struggle for money.

“So what I would say is, you can share one toothbrush with one household.

“Now that doesn’t mean literally sharing a toothbrush, that means with an electric toothbrush you can have one handle and multiple heads.

“So you can just have one each and just interchange them.

“I always say this to my patients – it’s such a good way to save money.

“I know toothbrush heads are expensive, so instead of buying the Oral B ones that come with it, you can just keep the cheaper ones from Savers or Superdrug.

“You can get a pack of four or five heads for a couple of quid.

“So, like I said, share a toothbrush, save money.” 

Jessica’s video has clearly shocked many, as it has quickly racked up 39.1k views.

It has 1,891 likes, 35 comments and 12 shares.

TikTok users were left divided at Jessica’s advice – while some thought it was gross, others thought it was a clever idea. 

One person said: “I struggle sharing cutlery 😂 it’s a no from me!” 

Another added: “I mentioned that to my dentist and she said that I’m disgusting!” 

A third commented: “No just no 🤢🤮 My ocd just can’t never going to happen.”

However, some TikTok users thought Jessica’s idea was great and worth doing.

One user noted: “An amazing idea!” 

A second agreed: “How clever!” 

Meanwhile, many social media users revealed that they have been sharing an electric toothbrush in their household for years.

Someone revealed: “I do this, I can't afford to buy 4 electric toothbrushes, so we all have our own heads with a different coloured band at the bottom.”
