Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has been named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2019.
The 29-year-old artist appears in the Icons section of Time‘s editorial choices.
“Taylor makes anyone older feel young again and anyone young feel they can do anything,” pop singer Shawn Mendes said in a tribute to Swift.
He recalled opening for a handful of her stadium shows on the 1989 World Tour.
“And I quickly learned that the magic of Taylor Swift doesn’t come from the lights, dancers or fireworks (although all of that is incredible) but from the electrifying connection that she has with the people who are there to see her,” said the a Grammy-nominated musician.
Time‘s list of 100 Most Influential People of the Year also features a number of world leaders, athletes, artists, business persons, actors, religious leaders and influential political figures.
