Tilly Ramsay took to Instagram today to update fans, as she found out she would not be able to attend the Strictly final after she discovered she had contracted COVID-19. The star told her 1.2 million followers she was “so sad” to miss the event, during which she was set to join her co-stars for a group dance, but assured them that she will be cheering her fellow competitors on as they take to the floor for the final time.
On November 28 Tilly, 20, and her dance partner Nikita Kuzmin, 23, were eliminated from the competition and ended up in sixth place.
Prior to their exit, Tilly and Nikita had performed a Samba to the song Levitating by Dua Lipa, earning themselves an overall score of 30.
The pair had to compete against Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu in the dreaded dance-off, before eventually being sent packing.
Now, their co-stars AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington, Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice, and John Whaite and Johannes Radebe are left to battle it out in the finals.
Ahead of Saturday’s highly-anticipated show, Tilly wrote on her Instagram: “So sad to be missing the Strictly final – but sadly have tested positive for covid so will be watching from my sofa and cheering on the amazing finalists from home on Saturday night.
“Wishing everyone lots of love & good luck x Tilly,” she added with heart emojis.
