Sia accuses Shia LaBeouf of ‘emotional hurt’ as she supports FKA Twigs

Musician Sia has accused Shia LaBeouf of ‘emotional hurt’ while expressing her support for FKA twigs who is suing the Transformers actor.

It was reported last week that FKA Twigs was suing her ex-boyfriend LaBeouf for sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress, claiming to have been subjected to ‘relentless’ abuse.

Throwing her support behind the musician, Sia tweeted on Sunday morning: ‘I too have been hurt emotionally by Shia, a pathological liar, who conned me into an adulterous relationship claiming to be single.

‘I believe he’s very sick and have compassion for him AND his victims. Just know, if you love yourself- stay safe, stay away [sic].’

She added: ‘Also I love you ⁦@FKAtwigs. This is very courageous and I’m very proud of you.’

Sia, 44, and LaBeouf, 34, worked together in 2015 when he starred in the music video for her single Elastic Heart alongside dancer Maddie Zielger.

Actress Olivia Wilde is also reported to have supported FKA twigs, 32, by sharing a screenshot of the New York Times report with the caption: ‘Love, respect, and support, @fkatwigs.’

FKA twigs, real name Tahliah Barnett, made the shocking claims about her relationship with Shia in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

According to the Grammy nominee, LaBeouf was driving recklessly in a car with her shortly after Valentine’s Day in 2019 before removing his seatbelt and threatening to crash unless she professed her love for him.

The lawsuit claims that the actor abused the Two Weeks singer of ‘physically, emotionally, and mentally many times in a relationship that lasted just short of a year’.

LaBeouf addressed the claims and told The New York Times in an email: ‘I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel.

‘I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years.

‘I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.’

When he was given a more detailed account of the claims, he responded in another email that ‘many of these allegations are not true’, but he owed the women ‘the opportunity to air their statements publicly and accept accountability for those things I have done’.

LaBeouf explained that he is a ‘sober member of a 12-step program’ and is also undergoing therapy.

‘I am not cured of my PTSD and alcoholism, but I am committed to doing what I need to do to recover, and I will forever be sorry to the people that I may have harmed along the way,’ he stated.

FKA twigs’ attorney Bryan Freedman told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘Shia LaBoeuf has abused Ms. Barnett, Ms.Pho and others. We tried to resolve this matter privately on the condition that Mr. LaBeouf agree to receive meaningful and consistent psychological treatment.

‘Since he was unwilling to agree to get appropriate help, Ms. Barnett filed this suit to prevent others from unknowingly suffering similar abuse by him.’
