Shinedown Tops Mainstream Rock Songs Chart

Shinedown has topped Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart for the 13th time.

“Get Up,” the second single from the Florida band’s sixth studio album, Attention Attention, has gone from 2-1 on the December 1-dated list.

Attention Attention debuted at No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums chart in May.

The 14-track album was produced by bassist Eric Bass.

Speaking about “Get Up,” Shinedown’s lead vocalist Brent Smith told Classic Rock magazine that it was one of the songs that took the longest to write because he was afraid what Eric was going to think. “So this is the part of the record when a person has to have a heart-to-heart chat with themselves in that chair. It’s a very conversational piece,” he added.

With 14 No. 1s, Three Days Grace, holds the most in the chart’s history.
