Piers Morgan has made a quick dash back to UK after cutting his holiday to France short.

The 55 year old was enjoying a trip to Saint Tropez on the French riviera with his sons Spencer and Bertie, but has made his way back home after learning of new quarantine rules.

New government guidelines state that any people arriving in the UK from France after 4am on Saturday will have to quarantine for two weeks in a bid to battle the spread of coronavirus.

In order to avoid being stuck at home for two weeks, the Good Morning Britain host has quickly packed his bags and flown home.

Sharing a photo of himself and his sons preparing to board a flight from Nice Airport, he captioned the post: "Quarantine dodgers".

After arriving home, Piers shared a note from the team at British Airways with his 1.2million followers and thanked them for their support during their dash.

The note read: "Dear Piers, just to say thank you for your loyalty and flying with British Airways for 20 years! From all the crew on the BA321."

Piers wrote alongside the note: "This is why I fly @british_airways – after some exceptionally good service flying home from Nice to avoid quarantine last night, the delightful cabin crew gave me this card."

His son Spencer took to his own Instagram to share snaps from their holiday over the last few days, posting an image of the family last week.

Spencer sat alongside Piers, Bertie and his eight year old sister Elise in the gorgeous photo, writing: "It's good to be back."

Just three days ago, he voiced his fears at having his trip cut short as he posted a photo of himself enjoying lunch with brother Bertie.

He captioned the post: "Boris, don't ruin it," as he referenced rumours the Prime Minister was due to close the travel corridor between England and France.

Piers recently shared rare photos of Elise on their holiday earlier this month as he compared her to his co-host Susanna Reid.

In one square of the photo booth style upload, the father-daughter duo pose for a sweet photo as Elise rests her head on her presenter dad. Another shows the youngster pointing at Piers in an angry way.

A third sees her covering her eyes while pulling a face, while a fourth square shows her pretending to choke her TV star dad while he pops his eyes wide open for the shot.

In the caption, Piers couldn't help but compare his daughter Susanna, writing: "Elise modelling her inner Susanna."
