Mya-Lecia Naylor's dad said 'we've lost our baby' after CBBC star 'collapsed'

Mya-Lecia was best known for her roles as Fran on Millie Inbetween, which ran on CBBC from 2014 until 2018, and Mya in Almost Never.

Her first role came when she was just two, when she played baby Jane in Absolutely Fabulous.

Before her tragic death, Mya-Lecia had been planning to get back into YouTubing when she finished her GSCE’s.

She told Tresa Magazine: ‘It’s hard at the moment since I’ve got my GCSEs in about two months, but as soon as that’s over I really want to get back into the habit of posting on YouTube weekly and really engaging in that.’

The talented teenager also teased new acting projects, saying: ‘I have been filming a few things here and there but everything’s a bit hush hush at the moment so I can’t really speak about it yet but be on the lookout because there’s going to be some amazing projects out real soon!’

The CBBC confirmed Mya-Lecia’s shock passing on 7 April in a statement reading: ‘We are so sorry to have to tell you that Mya-Lecia, who you will know from Millie Inbetween and Almost Never, has very sadly died.

‘Mya-Lecia was a much loved part of the BBC Children’s family, and a hugely talented actress, singer and dancer. We will miss her enormously and we are sure that you will want to join us in sending all our love to her family and friends.

‘We know this news is very upsetting, and it may help to share how you are feeling with friends or a trusted adult. If you are struggling and there is no one you feel you can talk to about it, you can call @Childline_official on 0800 11 11.⁣You can also find an online condolence book on the CBBC website.’
