Matt Baker’s wife Nicola Baker has left fans heartbroken after sharing some news about the couple’s Channel 4 programme, Our Farm in the Dales. Nicola shared a sweet photo of her and the Countryfile star’s son Luke cuddling an adorable puppy from their Cairn Terrier dog’s litter.

Alongside the snap, Nicola shared that tonight’s episode of Our Farm in the Dales will be the last.

She penned in view of her 21,000 followers: “It’s the last Our Farm in the Dales tonight at 9pm on More4!

“We’ll be saying a fond farewell to the puppies as they head to their forever homes.

“If you haven’t seen the first few you can catch up on demand on All4.

“Hope you all enjoy the last one! #puppies #farmlife #family #lastone.”

Fans rushed to the comments section of Nicola’s post to share their sadness over the series ending.

One person wrote: “Oh no! Not the last one. I hope someone is commissioning another series. It’s been a delightful programme; positive and uplifting during a pretty tough time.”

Another added: “Oh no, can understand you wouldn’t want to do more but it’s been such a lovely series. Thank you.”

A third disappointed fan penned: “Shame, we’ve really enjoyed this series. Good luck puppies.”

A fourth commented: “I am sad this is the last one but I hope you do make another one in the near future. Good luck to the puppies in their forever homes.”

A fifth agreed: “That’s very sad. I do hope you’ll make some more. We love it.”

“Ahhh I’m going to miss you all…another please,” a sixth Instagram user exclaimed.

A seventh person wrote: “Really going to miss you all have loved the program wish there were more thank you so much.”

“Very sad that this wonderful series is over far too quickly,” another fan added.

It comes as Matt addressed the future of the fan favourite show.

The former The One Show host said he was still unsure on whether to bring the docuseries back for series two.

He explained to the Radio Times: “Well I mean that’s an interesting one because I really wanted my family, my children, my wife, mum and dad to feel the whole process of what it’s like to, you know, be on TV and feeling the motions.

“And until the whole lot has gone out, then it’s impossible to make that decision really.

“At the end of the day, you know, I’ve always put my family first and I always will do and if we decide as a family that we want to keep going or whatever then it’ll be them that make the decision and that’s it.”

Despite his uncertainty, Matt added that he’s been “overjoyed” about the reaction from viewers towards the show.

He added: “It’s just it’s been amazing actually, it’s been quite remarkable from my perspective as well and it being the first show that we’ve ever made as my production company.

“To have that, you know, the most watched show ever on the channel – it’s incredible. Obviously, I feel like I’m living in a dream world with it, I really do.”

The four-part series gives fans an insight into Matt’s life as he moves his family, including children Molly and Luke, from Hertfordshire to his childhood farm in Durham after his mum Janice suffered a serious injury to her leg and knee and required extra help.
