Motown singer Mary Wilson has died suddenly at her home in Las Vegas, it has been confirmed. The star was 76-years-old at the time of her death, her publicist Jay Schwartz confirmed. The star was part of The Supremes alongside Diana Ross and Florence Ballard.

No cause of death has been given but will update this article when any information becomes available.

Schwartz also confirmed to Fox how Wilson would have a private funeral ceremony, which will be in line with the health and safety guidelines in place.

However, a public memorial is expected to be taking place later this year to remember the late star.

Wilson had a long and celebrated career as the founding and original member of The Supremes.


Among The Supremes’ biggest hits were Baby Love and Stop! In The Name of Love with the group at the height of their fame in the 1960s.

Fans have been paying tribute to the star on social media with singer Ledisi posting a photo of the band and captioning the image: “Thank You to the Great #MaryWilson.”

While Questlove posted on Instagram: “A Loved Supreme. Goodbye Mary Wilson…The Dreamgirl.”

Actress Keesha Sharp wrote: “Thank you for sharing your gift and boldly paving your path for all who followed. Rest now #MaryWilson.”
