Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis, 49, has taken to Twitter to vent his annoyance with his “special service”, after problems meant he missed his original slot on ITV breakfast show This Morning today. However, the financial expert kept his fans updated and was relieved when he was given a new slot by the team.

Writing in view of his 1.1 million followers, the father-of-one live-tweeted his technical problems which saw his slot on This Morning pushed back.

He wrote: “Meant to be on @thismorning now – problems with the camera feed to get it thru (i have a special service, but it’s being very ‘special’ today).”(sic)

Martin ended the tweet expressing his annoyance, adding: “Grrrrr.”

Shortly after, the star gave his fans an update on the situation.

“Fixed. So they’ve moved my slot (not as painful as it sounds) to 11:15 then phone in 15 mins later,” he told his followers.

Following his segment, Martin revealed that the phone-in had also been pushed back due to the problem with the service.

He added: “OK managed to get my slot on why you shouldn’t sweat small credit score moves out – surpassing the technical difficulties, now to do the @thismorning phone in.”

After airing the problems he was facing, fans took to the thread with some suggestions.

One wrote: “Just get them to use a phone line and an on-screen photo like the older, simpler days!!”

Another added sarcastically, referencing his spouse: “If only you lived with someone that was good with technology and gadgets.”

While a third penned: “Can’t they send the Batmobile over to get you to the studio?”

However, it soon came to light that he wasn’t the only one in the Lewis household facing technical difficulties with their gadgets.

Days ago Martin’s wife Lara Lewington also took to Twitter to lament her poor connection while talking to BBC’s Naga Munchetty.

She wrote: “Oh the irony of tech failing during a tech slot.

“Annoying connection glitch talking to @TVNaga01 on @bbc5live just now… or I could pretend the tech was fine but I have started doing weird pauses then speaking very fast to catch up.

“It’d be quite a skill”, she ended the tweet.

Last month Martin appeared in the This Morning studio, before walking off set after threatening to break social distancing rules when he joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Introducing what’s coming up in the show, the This Morning duo said that Irish chef Donal Skehan would be demonstrating a chocolate shieky cake for viewers to make at home.

But after being told by Phillip that social distancing rules meant he couldn’t taste it, Martin jokingly took issue and walked off set.

Getting up, Martin announced: “See you next week,” before returning to his seat.
