Lucy Mecklenburgh has opened up about the challenges of motherhood, revealing there are some days when she finds looking after son Roman extremely difficult.

During a revealing Instagram Q&A with her 1.7 million followers in between her work commitments, the 29 year old was asked: “Do you ever have days where you just don’t want to mum?”

Lucy recorded a video response, saying: “Absolutely, and I think that anyone who says they don’t, they’re probably lying.”

Continuing to speak about the realities of being a new mum and experiences she’s had, former The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy added: “It’s really tough, it’s the hardest job in the world, and I think that’s a really normal feeling.

“I’ve had it before when he’s started crying at like 5.30am in the morning and I’ve thought, ‘I don’t want to do it today!’”

Lucy, who is engaged to ex Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, then wrote the message: “Absolutely when I’m exhausted! Who’s with me?”

The Results with Lucy businesswoman also encouraged her followers to vote if they felt the same way she did, by choosing between two options “All the time!!” and “Never”.

Other followers also wanted to know more about her parenting style, including questions about breastfeeding, sleeping patterns and the food she prepares for Roman, which she regularly posts on social media.

“I started with purees, porridges, yoghurts and things like that, and then when I felt a little bit more comfortable and confident, I moved onto finger food and Roman feeds himself mainly now,” she explained.

“I try to be organised, he has quite a lot in the freezer and I’d say two out of three meals are all homemade, but the pouches are an absolute Godsend.”

This comes just a day after Lucy revealed she was suffering from a case of “mum guilt” when it came to juggling work with looking after her seven month old son.

Speaking directly to her fellow mums after a busy day filled with business meetings and Zoom calls, Lucy said she had been feeling guilty that she wasn’t paying Roman enough attention.

“I don’t know how you mums with more than one child organise your life,” she admitted. “You are like superheroes.”
