Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish are set to discuss their split in heartbreaking scenes on Friday night's make it or break it episode of Love Island.
It has been reported that the former lovebirds have quit the ITV2 dating show just three days before the grand finale, and viewers will now get a chance to witness how they came to make the decision.
In scenes yet to unfold, the blonde beauty receives a text, which reads: "Liberty and Jake. Please get ready to leave the villa for your final date. #makeorbreak"
After deciding whether it would be a good idea to leave the villa for the date, Jake tells Liberty: "I think it would be silly not to go on a date. It's entirely up to you."
The pair decide to go out on their date and take to the seas on a luxurious boat when Jake mentions: "Here we are then. Our perfect date we've always spoken about. You look beautiful today."
"Thank you. You look nice as well. How do you feel?" Liberty asks him.
Jake replied: "It's a tricky one, really. I didn't think I'd be coming on a date with the one I thought was the one."
Liberty then admits: "I don't know what happened along the way, but the spark just faded."
Jake explains that the feeling is mutual, telling her: "On my behalf, I felt the affection died out. That's a big thing for me, and that's nothing against you as a person."
Reflecting on the early stages of their romance, Liberty adds: "I'm not going to lie – I did fall in love with you. And at one point, I thought I had found the one but once the honeymoon passes, you start seeing the cracks."
The pair arrive back at the villa and tell their fellow Islanders: "Do you all want to gather around the fire pit?"
Viewers will have to wait and watch the episode to find out what Liberty and Jake tell them.
If marketing student Liberty and water engineer Jake have pulled out of the competition, it leaves Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran, Millie Court and Liam Reardon, Faye Winter and Teddy Soares and Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank battling it out for the £50,000 prize.
