Kerry Katona gives health update as she admits illness has ‘ruined her Christmas’

Kerry Katona has shared a health update with fans on social media, as a nasty bout of illness has refused to budge, leaving the star to battle with unpleasant symptoms throughout the Christmas period.

The 42 year old star took to Instagram to vent her frustration, as she declared to her followers: “OMG!!!! Sick of being bloody poorly! Feels like my throat is on fire!”

The former Atomic Kitten singer also shared a six minute video clip on Instagram as she sat in full makeup on her away home from last night’s pantomime performance, while fighting back her emotions.

“I am sick to death of moaning and complaining about being poorly. It has literally ruined my whole panto experience, my whole Christmas,” she lamented before revealing she had been suffering from an extremely sore throat and swollen neck.

Describing her symptoms as if it “felt like there’s a hole in my throat”, Kerry also went on to reveal it had been a hugely draining experience as she was usually the “morale booster” for her cast-mates, but had been struggling to paint on a smile for each performance.

“I’m normally the person that’s full of morale, and keeps the energy up, and all I’m doing is moaning and complaining and it’s getting me down,” she explained.

Apologising to those around her for being so miserable, Kerry also struggled to understand why she had been struck down with such a nasty bug.

She told fans: "I don't go out, I don't drink, I don't smoke.”

This prompted many to suggest that the star was pushing herself too hard and needed to take some time to let her body recover.

One wrote: "You're run down hun from work etc take some time to yourself to help recover.

Another posted: "Sack the next 7 days off. You come first, not the panto x.”

While a third weighed in by writing: "It’s horrible this bug had it a week before we came away and still coughing had antibiotics just can’t shift it , hope you feel better soon Kerry.”

The star still has 7 days left to performance in Lincoln’s New Theatre Royal production, of Cinderella, and despite her illness, Kerry is still determined to give it her all and deliver the performance so many children have eagerly been awaiting for.
