Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones took to Instagram and penned a heartfelt message. The professional dancer revealed she will be forced to celebrate the New Year without her loved ones.

The 32-year-old, who split from fellow pro dancer Neil Jones in 2019, revealed she was unable to reunite with her family who live in Russia.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Katya shared a video of a decorated Christmas tree which she admittedly will not get a chance to see in the flesh.

In view of 205,000 followers, the pro dancer penned a tearful message as she shared her sadness.

Katya wrote: “Beautiful tree back home in Russia.

“Won’t be home this year for the New Year,” followed by a crying face emoji.

The Strictly star has work commitments in the UK which could explain why she is unable to travel home to Russia.

Katya has swapped her dancing shoes for a role as the Evil Queen in the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs pantomime.

The BBC favourite recently addressed her sold-out new gig in a candid post.

“You can boooo me as much as you like! But I won’t stop singing (kinda) and dancing!” Katya wrote.

“I don’t know why, but I just love Panto so much. I played a fairy before, but playing a baddie is soooo much fun!

“HAVE YOU BEEN TO SEE PANTO THIS YEAR?” (sic)

Fans of the Strictly performer flooded the comment section, as they gushed over her latest role.

Meanwhile, Katya recently hit back at claims she had plans to quit Strictly.

After her dance partner Adam Peaty became the sixth contestant to be eliminated from the BBC One programme, Katya spoke out about uncalled remarks.

The brunette expressed how she felt forced into defending herself “after weeks of being bashed”.

She penned: “Good job I’m a tough cookie because these toxic lies are a lot for one person to take and can have consequences.

“I am a professional dancer on a TV show doing my job which I care passionately about.

“I’m not quitting, I’ve not had a tantrum. I love the show and I shall keep dancing. Lots of love.”
