Kate Ferdinand’s intense fitness routine including ‘vile’ daily habit

Kate Ferdinand has opened up about her wellness regime and her intense workouts, during a recent interview.

Appearing on Vicky Pattison's The Secret To podcast, the former TOWIE star spoke about how her fitness routine has changed after giving birth to son Cree during the pandemic.

Known for her enviable figure, the 31 year old is married ex-England footballer Rio Ferdinand and is also step-mum to Lorenz, Tate and Tia.

Despite her busy life raising four children, the busy mum has been able to prioritise her health and restart her 5 am HIIT workouts at her stunning home in Kent, which features an impressive home gym.

She told listeners that her workouts are essential for her mental health: "I do like to look good, I'm not going to lie, but also mentally my life is so manic that that hour in the morning just calms me.”

Whilst hitting the gym has been helpful for Kate, she emphasised how important it was to look after herself internally: "I'm on a whole new thing though. I have started looking after my body from the inside.”

She added: "I feel like everyone always wants to go gym, and get their hair done and look good but I have started trying to take care internally – and I feel like that might be helping."

However, Kate did talk about her routine as well as her love of clean eating – something which hasn’t always come easy to the former reality star.

Though she admitted to loving chocolate, crisps and takeaways, Kate said that she now focus on maintaining her new lifestyle and is now “doing it properly”.

There was one habit of Kate’s that listeners may not be so eager to follow.

She said: "…what I have been doing, I am obsessed with celery juice….. I hate the taste it is vile, but the benefits, it will change your life. It has mine."

The busy mum will often drink the veggie smooth half an hour after she wakes, and listed the benefits including improving your skin and bloating.

She continued: "I have been having that and so have the children and I just feel more energised and really great. And I eat my healthy meals for the rest of the day."

Kate also credited the drink and her new fitness regime with helping her get back in shape, but admitted that she felt “unconfident” at the beginning.

She candidly to Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison: “I don’t think I could train for six weeks, I didn’t even really walk for six weeks I don’t think, and then I’ve been gradually building it up slowly.”

Kate struggled to recognise herself following the birth, but was not “beating herself up” for her body changing.

She explained: “I would love to look how I looked before Cree but I am not putting a load of pressure on myself because things don’t always go to plan when you have a baby.”
