Although Johnny Depp, 59, was originally a ballpoint pen salesman when he first arrived in Los Angeles, a chance run-in with Nicholas Cage saw Johnny accepting a role in the 1984 low-budget horror film. 

Now, the prolific actor has originated, interpreted and reimagined countless iconic roles, making him known to almost every type of film audience. 

He started as a teenage victim in the 1984 horror movie classic A Nightmare on Elm Street, and spent a few years in the darker side of cinema. 

Through this era, Johnny’s face became synonymous with odd and curious characters like Edward Scissorhands and Ichabod Crane. 

Then, at the turn of century, the Kentucky-born star landed the role of Jack Sparrow, in the Pirates of the Caribbean series which would last well over a decade. 

Alongside his acting career, Johnny has also been a member of three different music bands throughout his career, the Rocky City Angels, Pink Grenade and currently Hollywood Vampires alongside rock icon Alice Cooper.
