Depp, who is a self-professed “romantic,” takes his relationships very seriously. The Corpse Bride actor is not one for flings: once he’s in something, he’s fully consumed by it. Depp is the kind of person who believes in “happily ever after,” which is why he has been engaged so often. He even admits how much of a “romantic” he is. According to Goodreads, Depp has said, “Am I a romantic? I’ve seen Wuthering Heights 10 times. I’m a romantic.”
The actor is the type of person to get down on one knee after only a few months of dating someone *cough cough Winona Ryder.* He has also gotten several tattoos dedicated to the special women in his life, throughout the years. So it’s safe to say that when Depp feels a certain way about a woman, he feels it deeply. This is why it is so significant that Depp claims he has “never felt so emotional about a woman before” (referring to Moss.) Their passionate feelings for one another made it all the more difficult when they broke off the relationship.

In an interview with Hello! Magazine, a heartbroken Depp still carries a picture of Moss in his wallet, even though they had just broken up. He tells the magazine in a 1998 interview that he and Moss had something really good going for them, and Depp ruined it by not giving her enough attention. He spills, “I have never got that emotional over a woman before. I have been so stupid because we had so much going for our relationship. I’m the one who has to take responsibility for what happened—I was difficult to get on with, I let my work get in the way, and I didn’t give her the attention I should have.”

Depp and Moss’s relationship spanned for four years. And although this might be considered short-lived, the supermodel reveals she spent “years and years” crying over her breakup with Johnny Depp. Moss tells Vanity Fair that she has never met anyone who cared about her in the same way that Depp did. The model mourned tremendously after their breakup because it was painful for Moss to lose someone who she could trust so much. She tells Vanity Fair,
“There’s nobody that’s ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said,” Moss admits. “Like if I said, ‘What do I do?’ he’d tell me. And that’s what I missed when I left. I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust,” she reveals. “Nightmare. Years and years of crying. Oh, the tears!”
