Jack Fincham has declined to comment after his ex-girlfriend Dani Dyer announced their split on Thursday.
However, it looks like the former stationery salesman, 27, may have custody of their puppy Sandy as he made his first post-split social media post on Friday.
The Kent-native, who is said to be heartbroken after Dani, 22, ended their six-month romance, has been seeking solace with their adorable French bulldog.
Although he didn’t address his relationship status, Jack posted a photo of Sandy sprawled out on the sofa, captioning it: "Tongue out soundo."
The couple adopted Sandy from The Bully Ranch dog breeders in London in November, although it appears Jack has been doing the lions’ share of the caring for the pup.
Until their split, Dani and Jack were living together in a luxury apartment in Wapping, east London.
However, former barmaid Dani was spotted outside their block of flats on Friday, suggesting she is continuing to live there following the relationship breakdown.
Jack’s post with the dog suggests he may be winning the custody battle over Sandy, having been the driving force to adopt the dog in the first place.
A source told The Sun that the puppy was a bone of contention between the pair: "Jack adores Sandy and thinks he should be the one to get full time custody of her.
"Dani is an absolute softie though and while Jack does spend more time with the dog, she adores Sandy. They’ve had a couple of tense chats about her and now it’s at a bit of a stalemate.
"Hopefully they’ll be able to work something out so they can both still see her, but it’s more than likely the dog will end up with Jack."
It’s been reported Dani was the one to end the couple’s romance after a string of rows and clashing work schedules.
The pair have been filming their own reality show Jack And Dani: Life After Love Island in recent weeks, which is due to debut on ITVBe in the new year.
Interestingly, Dani and Jack still follow each other on Instagram.
