HRVY has said Strictly Come Dancing 2020 partner Janette Manrara “is actually like my mum”, in a new interview. However, the singer hinted further at a possible romance with co-star Maisie Smith.

Janette Manrara’s basically sorted my life, I can’t really look after myself

The 21-year-old said he is looking for love, but the married pro, 37, is “like my mother”.

Meanwhile, he stated that he and the EastEnders actress, 19, will meet up after the BBC show.

The television presenter and the Tiffany Butcher star have found themselves surrounded by romance rumours since the competition kicked off.

Now he has disecribed her as “amazing and very beautiful”, but needs to “check” if she’s single.

He commented: “I’m sure at one point, when we can, Maisie and I will go out for dinner. I’m pretty sure she’s single too.

“It’s dancing first — then love and fun afterwards.”

HRVY – real name Harvey Leigh Cantwell – continued: “Maisie’s an amazing girl, very beautiful, but for now I’m just going to concentrate on the dancing because I fancy getting to the final.

“I won’t kiss anyone — and I definitely have not kissed Maisie.”

It comes after this year’s crop of dancers and celebrities have had to form bubbles due to the coronavirus pandemic.

There are strict rules on touching and mixing with their co-stars and wider circle.

Janette and her husband Aljaz Skorjanec, 30, are living apart and unable to get close to each other.

They have been married since 2017, two years after getting engaged.

Speaking of his pro partner, HRVY shut down any suggestion of romance during his interview with The Sun.

Although he gushed about her, saying she has “basically sorted my life”.

He stated: “Janette is actually like my mum, so it couldn’t be any further away from that.

“… She’s helped me out a lot. She’s basically sorted my life, I can’t really look after myself.”

The star added: “So there’s definitely no fear of the curse — plus her husband Aljaz is one good looking fella, so I don’t think he’d be threatened by me at all.”

The Strictly curse refers to stars of the show who have split or formed relationships before or after taking part.

Tonight the duo will perform a Tango to Golden by Harry Styles, while Maisie and pro Gorka Marquez will Salsa to Better When I’m Dancing by Meghan Trainor.

Strictly Come Dancing 2020 continues tonight at 7.15pm on BBC One.
