Ellen DeGeneres’ wife Portia de Rossi breaks silence amid claims her show is ‘toxic’

Ellen DeGeneres’ wife Portia de Rossi has spoken out to share her support for the star after she apologised following claims her show is “toxic”.

The 47 year old model and actress shared an image on her Instagram which read: “I Stand By Ellen” followed by the hashtag #IStandByEllen and her wife’s famous catchphrase: “Be Kind To One Another” underneath.

In the caption, Portia shared her thanks to those who have supported Ellen as former employees of her programme, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, claimed they had experienced “racism, intimidation and fear”.

Portia wrote: “To all our fans….we see you. Thank you for your support.”

She then ended the post with a number of hashtags including #IStandWithEllenDeGeneres, #TheEllenShow and #BeKindToOneAnother.

Portia’s post received more than 83,000 likes from fans, but some critics took to the comments to hit out at Ellen over the "toxic" claims.

One urged: “Sorry but she needs to take responsibility”.

While another added: “It’s not bot attacks, her employees are speaking out”

And a third asked: “Do you think those employees who are coming out and complaining are all liars?”
