The hit Disney Channel movie franchise is reportedly going to be getting TWO more movies, Variety reports.

It was just announced that Disney Channel President Gary Marsh will be stepping down as a senior executive and will move into a broad production pact with Disney General Entertainment to develop content for all of the Disney networks, including ABC, National Geographic and more.

As part of his production pact, he is set to develop projects that exist around already developed Disney IP, including the Descendants franchise, the Beauty and the Beast prequel series at Disney+, and other projects Tink, School for Sensitive Souls and Witch Mountain.

While no other details on the Descendants projects has been announced, it will like not be focused on the core four.

Earlier this year, Sofia Carson opened up about how difficult it was to record the Royal Wedding special without the late Cameron Boyce.

Last year, Sarah Jeffery shared that there are “endless possibilities” for spinoff movies within that world.

Gary Marsh has served as Disney Channel president for the last ten years, and last November was appointed president and chief creative officer of Disney Branded Television, which encompasses family oriented programming for Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney+ and Disney XD.

“For 33 years, I’ve had the greatest job in television,” Gary shared in a statement. “The stories we’ve told, the music we’ve created, the stars we’ve discovered, the franchises we’ve built – all of it has entertained and engaged millions of kids and families around the globe. Thanks to the reach of Disney’s streaming platforms, those stories will live forever in the hearts and minds of future generations, alongside all the new stories I look forward to telling. There simply could not be a more compelling or creatively stimulating time to enter the production ranks.”
