Ralf Little, 41, couldn’t believe it when his podcast co-presenter and fellow actor Will Mellor showed him a picture of a child who had been named after him. The Death in Paradise cast member said he was “amazed” by the baby news in a candid chat with his friend during their podcast, Two Pints with Will & Ralf.
Ralf and Will famously starred together in British sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps between 2001 and 2011.
Now, the two actors have joined together to interview celebrities and other interesting guests over two pints and a selection of bar snacks in the podcast they started up last year, inspired by the show.
Will, 45, began by showing co-host Ralf the picture during their show.
Ralf seemed confused at first, as he told listeners the picture showed Will with a child.

“That’s baby Ralf,” Will confirmed, which only added to Ralf’s confusion.
“Ralf, that was named after you, from the podcast,” Will clarified.
“No! Is he?” Ralf exclaimed.
“That’s him! I met him at a Comic Con,” Will insisted.
Ralf appeared to be chuffed, calling the little one “handsome”, while Will joked that he had eaten “his mince pies”.
It seems that the child’s mother, who was clearly something of a Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps fan, had named her son after Ralf.
Telling the story of how he met baby Ralf’s mum, Will explained: “She came up to me and she said, ‘This is Ralf,’ and I went, ‘Oh, hello, that’s a nice name,’ and she went, ‘No the Ralf from the podcast when we named him!’”
The new mum previously revealed that she would be naming her baby after Ralf on their podcast, and she stayed true to her word.

Will then confirmed that he had taken a picture of the baby to show Ralf the next time they went on air.
“I forgot about that – that is amazing!” Ralf said, appearing a little lost for words.
Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps was first broadcast on BBC Two in 2001 and starred many young, up and coming stars, including Sheridan Smith.
The series followed the lives and loves of five friends navigating adulthood in the Northern town of Runcorn, Cheshire.
Ralf and Sheridan were cast off the back of their roles in another popular UK sitcom, The Royle Family, which ran between 1998 and 2000.
Since 2020, Ralf has portrayed the somewhat neurotic DI Neville Parker in Death in Paradise.
He is the fourth actor to take on the detective role in the series, having taken over from Father Ted’s Ardal O’Hanlon, who played DI Jack Mooney between 2017 and 2020.
Ralf also provides the voiceover for Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm, which has been following the life of the Owen family since 2018.
The latest episode of the podcast Two Pints with Will & Ralf aired October 27 and all episodes can be listened to via Apple Podcasts, Acast and other streaming services.
