Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham are proving that they’re mature enough to stay friends after their split by bantering on Instagram.
The Love Island winners shocked fans on Thursday when they brought their romance to an abrupt ending after just six months together.
In the four months since the ITV2 show finished, they’ve moved in together and got a pet dog, but now it’s all over.
But after Dani said in her statement that they planned to stay friends, they’ve been enjoying some social media banter.
It came tonight at 22-year-old Dani – daughter of EastEnders star Danny Dyer – shared a picture of her grandmother Christine raising a glass of wine during a family meal.
She captioned the cute picture: "I really love you Nanny"
And Jack, 27, cheekily commented: "Here she is"
Dani wrote back: "@jack_charlesf she loves ya"
Some fans hoped that it meant it wasn’t over for good.
One said: "Maybe they just need some time to apart of dani had a change of heart, or they are taking a break.
"What ever it is no one has done anything wrong, it was just a bit sudden and strange how it all came about."
And some even commented to ask if the comments meant they hadn’t broken up after all.
Dani announced the shock split on Thursday night, writing on Instagram: "Jack & I have sadly decided to part ways. It’s been an incredible 6 months, and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but sadly we’ve come to the realisation that it’s not meant to be long term.
"We both plan to stay friends. I hope you’ll all understand. Love Dani x"
Similarly to Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood, from the 2017 series, the pair have been filming a reality show about their lives together after the show.
It’s not known whether or not the break up was filmed.
Jack and Dani were the clear favourites to win Love Island from the very beginning.
A while ago, Dani even pranked her fans by revealing Jack had proposed to her.
In reality, she was egged on by Capital’s Roman Kemp while appearing on his breakfast show and Jack was asleep in bed at the time, unaware of what was happening.
