Courtney Love posted a picture on Instagram last Monday that showed her alongside original Hole members Patty Schemel, Melissa Auf Der Maur and Eric Erlandson inside a studio.
The picture, which hints at a possible Hole reunion, has since been deleted.
Love captioned the post: “Whose rusty af? Ladies III,” and included hashtags “#hole #rehearsal # tonight #hollywood.”
She wrote: “Ah! We r so rusty. Just finding our way through songs n songs we like n riffs seeing what’s what! It’s cool. Af nice to be together.”
On being asked about upcoming Hole concerts, she responded with two black heart emojis.
Earlier this year, Love told The Guardian that the members were talking about a reunion to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the band’s sophomore album, Live Through This, as they felt there was nothing wrong with honoring the past.
“I’ve just kind of discovered that. If you don’t, people will rewrite history and you will become an inconvenient woman,” she said.
“We’ve all grown older, have become more gentle, and I have the feeling that now would be the right point in time to reactivate the band once again,” Auf Der Maur said in April. “We did a few little gigs over the years but nothing substantial… HOLE was a great band, and it’s important to remember them properly.”
Hole’s classic line-up released their last album, Celebrity Skin, in 1998. Love was the only original member of the band when it released Nobody’s Daughter in 2010.
The quartet reunited to perform for the first time in 15 years at a party in April 2012.
