Christine McGuinness has reassured her Instagram followers not to “worry” about her upcoming social media silence.

The model, television personality and author shared a series of selfies with the caption: “Time for a little digital detox.”

Christine went on to explain: “In a world of algorithms, hashtags and followers, I really want to embrace the true importance of human connection and go back to basics for a bit.”

Setting the record straight on her move away from social media, Christine also commented: “Im not really sure what I think about the whole ‘social media silence’ announcement thing but I have lots of lovely followers on here who check in on me daily and I don’t want to worry anyone whilst I have a little quiet time.”(sic)

The mum-of-three added: “I am very happy and healthy, I’m just ready to embrace switching off, being present and living low key for a while”

Christine, 35, is best known for her time on ITVBe’s The Real Housewives of Cheshire. She’s also starred in other reality shows, including The Real Full Monty and The Games.

She has also made documentaries for the BBC to help raise awareness of autism.

The first one, Our Family and Autism, documented the struggles they faced as a family after Christine and her three children, whom she shares with TV presenter Paddy McGuinness, were all diagnosed with autism.

Her latest documentary, Christine McGuinness: Unmasking My Autism, explores how women and girls are often going undiagnosed with the condition, while reflecting on the star’s personal experiences.

Christine’s decision to step back from social media comes just days after she caused a frenzy amongst her 711,000 fans by channelling Baywatch beauty Pamela Anderson.

Whilst enjoying a family holiday, Christine donned a vibrant red swimsuit and commented: “Building H-E-R feels like a dream, welcome SIREN our best selling swimsuit (sold out over and over again) is now available in Red.”

We Are H-E-R is a fashion brand launched by Christine that specialises in ASD-friendly clothing.

This isn’t the first time that she’s quite social media. In March, Christine broke her social media silence after her estranged husband Paddy took to instagram to praise her on International Women’s Day.

The Take Me Out presenter, 49, who split with Christine in 2022 after 11 years, described Christine as an “incredible mother”.

The post read “Happy International Women’s Day to all the amazing women out there.

“Thank you @mrscmcguinness for being an incredible Mother to our beautiful children and for raising awareness around Autism which affects our little family and so many others. Today’s about celebrating all the good women.”
