Celebrities with Coronavirus: How are celebrities self-isolating?

During the last Coronavirus update Boris Johnson made it clear we must stay at home, a message that has made celebs take to social media to spread. Kevin Bacon took to his Instagram last week to highlight the importance staying at home to self-isolate is right now.

The Footloose star started the video to his Instagram with: “Hi folks, you know me right? I’m technically only six degrees away from you.”

He adds: “Right now, like people around the world, I’m staying home, because it saves lives and is the only way we’re going to slow down the spread of this coronavirus.”

Urging fans to do the same, Bacon then held up a pig-shaped chalkboard which had the hashtag #IStayHomeFor with his wife’s name Kyra Sedwick written underneath.

He then challenged fans to join in with the hashtag and to name the person they are self-isolating for.

By tagging six of his celeb mates, he kicked off his social media campaign with the aim to prove how effective the six degrees of separation concept is in helping the message to stay at home travel.

In the caption of the post he said: “The more folks involved, the merrier – We’re all connected by various degrees (Trust me, I know!)

“I’m kicking it off with @jimmyfallon @eltonjohn @Brandicarlile @kevinhart4real @ddlovato @davidbeckham – but I encourage YOU ALL to join in too!”

After being tagged in the #IStayHomeFor hashtag by Bacon, Elton John also confirmed he was staying home for his partner David Furnish as well as their two children Zachary, nine, and Elijah, seven.

In a post to his Instagram the singer said he will be sticking to playing snakes and ladders indoors: “Today it’s snakes, ladders and staying inside to stop the spread of coronavirus.”

Some stars have also taken to social media to cheer up fans in a time where many people are panicking.

Tom Jones posted a video of him and Sammy Davis Jr singing ‘What the World Needs Now Is Love’ across his social media accounts to let ease the worry of fans.
