Carol Vorderman put on a stone in two weeks after having coil fitted

Carol Vorderman has revealed that the secret to her perfect bum is doing 20,000 squats a year and opened up about her weight gain after having the coil fitted.

The former Countdown star has admitted that despite getting lots of attention for her body, she hasn’t actually weighed herself since 1999.

Carol made an appearance on Lorraine to talk about her relationship with her body.

She said: ‘I haven’t weighed myself since 1999. I don’t actually know how much I weigh and I don’t care because I go on my dress size, thank god for lycra!

‘I’m probably about a size eight to nine at the moment. I’ve always had a small waist, I think I’m about 25 inches around my waist.

‘If I put on a bit of weight, I know I have, and I go up to a size 11.

‘A larger size 10, that’s kind of my boundary for where I’m happy.’

The 58-year-old has also shared some of the exercise she does.

Mum to two children, Katie and Cameron, Carol described how she loves walking 12-20 miles twice a week.

Carol also admitted to doing around 20,000 squats a year.

‘In terms of squats, or the equivalent of squats, I probably do over 20,000 a year…that’s a lot.’

The media personality has also been very open about menopause and how it changes your body.

She explained: ‘As you go through menopause, things change’

The Have I Got News For You host admitted that having the mirena coil triggered her hormonal depression.

‘I put on a stone in two weeks,’ she said. ‘It gives off hormones as well so I had it removed and it took me a year to lose the weight.

‘I went through this terrible hormonal depression, and I don’t use that word lightly, it really was awful.’

Carol was on Lorraine’s Body Confidential show on Thursday July 4. The show airs between 8:30am and 9:25am.
