The 60-year-old supermodel and actress shows support for the Brooklyn Net player while revealing that she is not a fan of New York City’s vaccination mandate.
AceShowbiz –Carol Alt is another celebrity to support Kyrie Irving for his anti-vaccine stance. In a new interview, the supermodel/actress declared that she admires the NBA star for sticking to his decision not to get the COVID-19 despite backlash.
“I so admire Kyrie Irving for what he’s doing,” the 60-year-old told Page Six. “I mean, I’m certain he’s got lots of money saved up, but that’s not the point. The point is how do you lose $400,000 a game? How do you sit on the sidelines, except you have a strong character and a strong belief?”
Carol went on to explain that she knows people who already battled the virus and now have “the antibodies.” She further shared, “I have friends who are Christian Scientists who don’t believe in getting vaccinated… I just think there needs to be space to breathe.”
During the interview, Carol offered her two cents regarding New York City’s vaccination mandate. She made it clear that she’s not a fan of the idea of people getting laid off on unpaid leave just because they refuse to take the shots.
“I think the problem is that mandate,” the Sports Illustrated alum opined. “I think a lot of these men would have done what they had to do to protect themselves and their families if they were just left alone.”
“I mean, I think we live in a democracy and we should be allowed to do what we want to do,” she elaborated further. “Certainly, everyone in SAG and the CFDA are all vaccinated, so I don’t know.”
Prior to Carol, Chris Brown showed his public support for Kyrie on Instagram. Posting a picture of the Brooklyn Nets star, who was deemed not eligible to play this season after he refused to get vaccinated, Chris stated, “THE REAL HERO!!! I stand with my brother… WHOEVER DON’T LIKE IT…. Go live your damn life.. ITS HIS CHOICE AND A DAMN GOOD ONE. ALWAYS IN MY BROTHERS CORNER.”
