Cardi B Sends Love To Late Mac Miller & Family After Beating Him For Best Rap Album At Grammys

Cardi B paid tribute to the late Mac Miller after she won Best Rap Album — beating him, Travis Scott, Pusha T and Nipsey Hussle — at the Grammys on Feb. 10. See her emotional message to Mac and his family!

Cardi B, 26, made sure to recognize Mac Miller and his family, after she heard the late rapper’s loved ones were rooting for her to take home the award for Best Rap Album, if he didn’t win at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10. After Cardi beat out her male competition — Mac Miller, Travis Scott, Pusha T and Nipsey Hussle — she filmed a celebratory video back stage, where she sent a loving message to Mac and his family. “I read an article that Mac Miller’s family said that if he don’t win, they want me to win, so I’m sharing this Grammy with you, motherf–ker! Rest in peace!”, Cardi yelled in a the video, as seen below.

“WE WON A F–KIN GRAMMY,” Cardi captioned a second Instagram post after her big night. She reposted a screen-grab of the article she referenced in the video, mentioned above. And, although Mac’s ex, Ariana Grande tweeted and then deleted some subtle shade that he didn’t win Best Rap Album, she still supported Cardi’s first Grammy win. Ari, a fellow first-time Grammy winner last night, commented six black heart emojis under Cardi’s post. She also clarified on Twitter that she was not shading Cardi with her since-removed tweets.

Mac Miller died of a drug overdose last September. He was 26. The late rapper was honored in the Grammys’ annual In Memoriam tribute video. And, his mother, Karen Meyers was spotted at the Grammys with Cazzie David by her side.

It was a big night for Cardi at the 61st annual Grammy Awards in LA. The rapper, who was up for five Grammys, made history after she won the coveted award for Best Rap Album, making her the first female solo winner to take home the award. While it was her first Grammy, Cardi has been nominated seven times total.

Ahead of her win, Cardi walked the red carpet in vintage Mulger with her (no longer estranged) husband, Offset by her side — confirming that the tumultuous couple is officially back on. Cardi and Offset, who share a daughter, Kulture, (7 mos.) together, shared a tongue kiss on the red carpet.

Cardi then hit the stage for an electrifying performance of her latest single, “Money”, where she stunned in a black, sheer Mulger catsuit with patches of cheetah-print throughout. She showed off her dancing skills with choreographed routines, along with a solo twerk performance on top of a piano. It’s safe to say that Cardi B lived her best life at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
