Camilla and Anne support Prince Charles after Harry and Meghan ‘reject’ invite to stay

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Princess Anne were seen supporting Prince Charles at the Braemar Gathering Highland Games.

This comes after it was reported that Prince Harry, 37, and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, 41, declined 73 year old Charles' invitation for them to stay with him at Balmoral while in the UK this week.

In the photos, Charles can be seen laughing with his sister and wife while sporting a Scottish kilt.

Anne's green outfit was finished with a red hat and white tights, while Camilla was dressed in green also and black boots.

Harry and his father have reportedly not been on the best of terms since Harry stepped down from his royal duties and moved to the United States with his wife.

An insider told the Mirror: “He hasn’t wavered, despite the attacks, which seem to be coming with increased vigour.

“The Prince of Wales reiterated his invitation for Harry and Meghan, and the whole family if they wished, to come and stay with him this summer while he is at his home on the Balmoral estate.

“He thought it might be a good opportunity for everyone to take stock and relax, but the invitation was declined.”

Last week, Meghan did a tell-all interview with The Cut Magazine, where she spoke about life after stepping down from royal duties.

She said: “Harry said to me, ‘I lost my dad in this process'. It doesn’t have to be the same for them as it was for me, but that’s his decision.”

However, Omid Scobie, a friend and biographer from Sussex later clarified: “I understand that Prince Harry is referring to Meghan’s loss of her own father, and Meghan is saying she doesn’t want Harry to lose his.”

Prince Harry and Meghan are currently in the United Kingdom and will be attending the One Young World summit in Manchester today, Monday 5 September.

Tomorrow will then see the pair travel to Germany for the Invictus Games One Year To Go event on Tuesday.

Then on Thursday 8 September, the Sussexes will return to the United Kingdom for the WellChild Awards in London.
