Britney Spears, 39, accused her father Jaime Spears, 68, and others who control her 2008 conservatorship agreement, of exploiting her, preventing her from having a child and forcing her to work. Appearing virtually at a court hearing in Los Angeles on Wednesday, this is the first time she’s spoken out since her lawyer filed to suspend it last year. Following the pop star’s claims, Jaime responded to the allegations of abuse made during her dramatic testimony, where he read aloud a statement.

He said: “He is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain.
“Mr Spears loves his daughter very much.”
Last year, the singer said she was “afraid” of her dad, and would not return to the stage while he managed her estimated £43 million estate.
During the hearing, the songstress testified that the controversial guardianship contract has prevented her from having another baby, after claiming that she has an “IUD” in her body.
The pop sensation, who is in a relationship with Iranian actor and model Sam Asghari, told the court that she has to use birth control to prevent her getting pregnant.
Britney told the judge in a plea to end her conservatorship, that the court-ordered legal arrangement controlling her life is “doing me way more harm than good”, as she made her highly awaited virtual appearance.
“I truly think this conservatorship is abusive. I don’t feel like I can live a full life,” she said.
Her finances and personal affairs became controlled by the conservatorship since 2008, when she suffered a series of mental breakdowns.
She told judge Brenda Penny she wants the conservatorship ended without a further medical assessment.
Britney said in court: “This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good.
“I deserve to have a life, I’ve worked my whole life.
“I deserve to have a two to three-year break.”
Spears said the law should be changed and she should not be under a conservatorship while she is able to work and provide for herself.
During her plea, Britney made an emotional statement to overturn the contract, saying: “I’ve told the world I’m happy and OK. I’m traumatised.
“I’m not happy, I can’t sleep. I’m so angry, it’s insane. And I’m depressed.
“My dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, including my management … they should be in jail.”
She continued: “The last time I spoke to you [the judge] … made me feel like I was dead.
“I am telling you again because I am not lying … so maybe you can understand the depth and the degree and the damages … I deserve changes.”
Britney also opened up about why she hadn’t previously gone public with her story.
She said: “I honestly don’t think anyone would believe me.
“I thought people would make fun of me. I just want my life back. It’s enough.”
Earlier today, Britney’s boyfriend Sam shared how he was wearing a Free Britney t-shirt ahead of her hearing on Instagram.
The 27-year-old posted the image on his stories alongside a lion emoji hours before she was scheduled to speak.
The #FreeBritney campaign was started by the singer’s fans who feel she should end her conservatorship.
