The legendary ex-boxer opened up about his drink and drug habits while appearing on an episode of the Joe Rogan podcast.
Tyson recalled his early days as a wild youth before going into the world of boxing and storming the heavyweight division.
He said: “[I started doing drugs] as a kid, nine, ten years old.
“Smoking and drinking. And as I got older, I tried acid. I was probably 11. Yeah, real young.”
Tyson also recounted his first experience of owning exotic animals as pets.
He added: “So I’m in prison and talking to my car dealer.
“He has cars that belong to a friend of ours and he’s saying if he doesn’t pay for these cars, he’s going to sell it and get some horses and stuff.
“I said, ‘What do you mean, you can trade your cars in for horses?’ I’ve got a lot of cars. I can probably get some horses too.
“He said, ‘Yeah you can get cougars, lions, tigers’. I said, ‘Dude, can you get me some tigers?’”
