Jen shared a fun recipe on her Instagram one day before: “This time of year it is extra cozy to send kids to school with something warm in their bellies. My kids feel extra cozy about @realbakingwithrose’s chocolate bread. This recipe isn’t crazy sweet and, with a good swish of peanut butter, is just the thing for my early rising middle schooler,” she wrote. Watch below!

Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350F. 2. Whisk cocoa and boiling water until smooth. Allow to cool to room temperature, then gently whisk in vanilla and eggs. 3. In a mixer bowl, combine cake flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix on low speed for 30 seconds to blend. Add half the chocolate paste and the butter and mix until dry ingredients are moistened. Increase speed to medium-high and beat for 1 minute to aerate and develop structure. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Gradually add remaining chocolate paste in two batches, beating for 20 seconds after each addition to incorporate the ingredients and strengthen the structure. Scrape down the bowl. Fold in chocolate mini chips/chopped chocolate. 4. Scrape batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the surface with a spatula. 5. Bake for 50-60 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center will read about 200F. (The bread shouldn’t start to shrink from the sides of the pan until after removal from the oven.) 6. Set the bread on a wire rack to cool for 10 minutes. Loosen the sides of the bread and invert onto an oiled wire rack. Reinvert so it is top side up and cool completely.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Return to ‘Supernatural’ as John Winchester – See Fans’ Reaction

Rejoice, “Supernatural” fans! After a decade, The CW series has announced that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be returning to the series, reprising his role as John Winchester, the father of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles).

His return is to commemorate the 300th episode of the series. “The Walking Dead” star is set to make an appearance in an episode titled “Lebanon”.

“We’re incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character… and a few other surprise guest stars,” executive producer Andrew Dabb says in a statement.

Fans must have remembered that John was last seen in season 2 finale titled “All Hell Breaks Loose: Part 2” back in 2008. The episode saw John, who appeared in a total of 12 episodes beginning with the first season in 2005, escaped through the open gate to hell before helping his sons kill Yellow Eyes.

John himself died in season 2 opener, “In My Time of Dying”, after he sacrificed himself to save Dean by making a deal with a demon.

Fans are definitely psyched over the news as they begin to flood social media to share their excitement. “@JDMorgan WILL BE BACK IN 300th #Supernatural EPISODE AND IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY AND EMOTIONAL ! #PapaWinchesterIsBack,” one fan tweets alongside a GIF of someone crying.

Another fan simply expresses her/his feling a clip from “Titanic” in which old Rose says, “It’s been 84 years,” alluding to how fans have to wait for 10 years to see Papa Winchester coming back to the series. “Daddy’s coming home !!!!” one other echoes, posting a GIF of excited Dean and Sam that accurately describes their feelings.

“Lebanon”, the episode featuring Morgan, will air on Thursday, February 7 at 8 P.M. on The CW.

Nurseries are told not to call children ‘boys’ and ‘girls’

Have they gone nuts? Nurseries are told not to call children ‘boys’ and ‘girls’ and to use ‘humanity’ instead of ‘mankind’ in bid to stamp out gender discrimination (and even stories about Mr Squirrel are banned!)

  • New guidelines urge childcare providers to introduce ‘gender-equal play’ so that boys are encouraged to play girls’ games, and vice versa
  • The guidance from the Care Inspectorate (CI) also cautions against telling stories about ‘Mr Squirrel’ to break down masculine stereotypes
  • Children should also be shown images of same-sex parents in educational materials

Nursery staff have been told not to call children ‘boys and girls’ – or tell them stories about male characters – in an attempt to stamp out gender discrimination.

New guidelines urge childcare providers to introduce ‘gender-equal play’ so that boys are encouraged to play girls’ games, and vice versa.

But the guidance from the Care Inspectorate (CI) also cautions against telling stories about ‘Mr Squirrel’ to break down masculine stereotypes – or even using the word ‘mankind’ instead of ‘humanity’.

New guidelines urge childcare providers to introduce ‘gender-equal play’ so that boys are encouraged to play girls’ games, and vice versa

Children should also be shown images of same-sex parents in educational materials, while posters displaying male ballet dancers are encouraged to break down gender divisions.

The Rev David Robertson, former Moderator of the Free Church of Scotland, criticised the CI last night, saying: ‘Have they gone nuts? They’ve lost a degree of sanity and moved out of touch with the real world – they are living in a parallel universe.

‘The Care Inspectorate are no longer about inspecting care standards, they’re about inspecting doctrine.’

The taxpayer-funded body, which inspects registered childcare providers, said the initiative has been brought in because ‘childhood and play is becoming more gendered and polarised between girls and boys’.

It has joined forces with campaigners at Zero Tolerance – which works to eradicate male violence against women – to produce the guide, which aims to promote the benefits of children of both sexes playing with a range of toys.

Guidelines advise that nursery staff should ‘try greeting children with “hello everyone” or “children” instead of “hello boys and girls”.’

The guidance from the Care Inspectorate (CI) also cautions against telling stories about ‘Mr Squirrel’ (pictured) to break down masculine stereotypes

They should also use ‘more inclusive pronouns’ such as ‘they’ or ‘them’ or ‘theirs’, instead of ‘she’ or ‘him’ or ‘hers’, while girls should be complimented because they have ‘achieved something’ and not because of their appearance.

‘Man-made’ becomes ‘synthetic’, ‘manufactured’ or ‘machine-made’, while ‘the common man’ becomes ‘the average person’ or ‘ordinary people’ – and ‘Mr Squirrel’ in stories told to children should be referred to as ‘squirrel’.

Scottish Tory early years spokesman Alison Harris said: ‘This seems like political correctness gone mad. These recommendations appear to be patronising in the extreme.

‘Many parents will be concerned that this political correctness is replacing common sense.’

Richard Lucas of the Scottish Family Party said: ‘Pushing this sort of feminist extremism is an attempt at social engineering and indoctrination, starting with the very youngest.

‘Why can’t they just accept that boys and girls are different?’

Gordon Weir, interim chief executive of the Care Inspectorate, said: ‘The role that early learning and childcare can have in promoting gender equality can’t be overstated. That’s why we’ve produced this resource with our partners.

‘This is about asking everyone to think about how they approach gender equality in play and early learning, and how we can support and promote it.’

Arsenal send scout to watch top transfer target Cengiz Under ahead of potential £50million January move

The 21-year-old is expected to be named in the starting XI for the Italian club's Europa League clash against FC Viktoria Plzen.

And with Gunners boss Unai Emery keen to keep up his side's outside chance of a title challenge, the Turkish international ticks a fair few boxes.

Nicknamed "The Undertaker", the Roma star has been impressive for the Serie A side since joining from Istanbul Basaksehir in 2017.

This year, he's bagged four goals and four assists across all competitions for his club and was watched by Arsenal scouts as he helped his side to a dramatic 2-2 draw against Inter Milan.

However, Roma are keen to hold on to the 21-year-old for the remainder of their Champions League campaign.

Letting the young Turkish player move would result in a profit share with Under's former club who they'd have to pay 20 per cent of any transfer fee.

A natural right winger, Under has previously spoken of his desire to play in England.

Age – 21

Position – Winger

Current Club – Roma

Previous Clubs – Istanbul Basaksehir

Club Appearances – 38

Goals Scored – 9

Turkey Appearances – 10

Goals Scored – 4

Speaking in 2017, the ex-Basaksehir star said: "Among the leagues I want to play in are La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Premier League.

"But I want to play in the Premier League the most.”

The Turkish star may be dubbed The Undertaker, but at 173cm he is somewhat shorter than the 208cm wrestler.

But if Arsenal manage to land the promising winger, Gunners fans will be hoping he will prove as destructive on the pitch as his namesake does in the wrestling ring.

Chrissy Teigen Just Tweeted Some STRONG Opinions About Candy & ’90s Kids Are Divided

If you recently felt a tremble in the universe, that was just because Chrissy Teigen tweeted her candy preferences, and Twitter subsequently sounded every alarm known to humankind. Which Skittle is the best Skittle? Do different colored gummy bears actually taste different? What does model-author-chef-tv personality-Twitter queen-human embodiment of “life goals” Chrissy Teigen have to say about all of this? If it’s answers you seek, read on. But be warned! Once you learn what Chrissy has to say about her favorite candy flavors, you will never be able to mindlessly munch on a gummy bear again.

It all started when Chrissy Teigen made this decree on Twitter: “The best gummy bear is the clear gummy bear. This isn’t up for debate. You either agree or you’re wrong.” It was the tweet that launched 1.7 thousand comments. If you don’t speak fluent candy, clear gummy bears are usually the pineapple flavored ones. If you speak even a little bit of internet, you know people have some feelings about pineapple and where it does and does not belong.

Many of the responses to this initial Twitter/candy mini-manifesto were either Camp “NO NOT PINEAPPLE WHY PLEASE NO” or Camp “Thank you, Lord Chrissy. I have been vindicated. *dissipates into pineapple dust*”. However, Chrissy Teigen was not finished. Nay, she had more controversial candy thoughts to tweet into the universe.

“The best skittle is purple followed closely by red,” Chrissy tweeted next as if that wouldn’t completely destroy the universe. As if that wouldn’t lead to chaos and wars and people dumping out their Skittles. As if PURPLE IS ACTUALLY THE BEST? (I told myself I wouldn’t get caught up in the madness, but if I don’t defend the green Skittle, who will?)

If you thought she was done there, this must be your first Internet. Chrissy Teigen went on to tweet about everything from which Airhead flavor reigns supreme to which Jolly Rancher is the best to, of course, the best flavor of Starburst. (Don’t worry, she said: “pink, obviously.”) Basically, candy stans and the people who run candy brands’ social media accounts were very busy that day.

Here is the conclusive list of which candy flavors are the best among fruity candies, according to Chrissy Teigen’s Twitter spree.

  • Best Gummy Bear: the clear one (AKA pineapple)
  • Best Skittle: purple with red as a close second
  • Best Starburst: pink “obviously”
  • Best Mamba: raspberry “followed closely by strawberry”
  • Best Sour Patch Kid: red
  • Best Airhead: white mystery flavor. (Note: some sites claims the “mystery flavor” is actually just the mixed-together leftovers from other flavor batches, sans food coloring. Thus, the flavor changes from batch to batch. Others have approximated the flavor as “white cherry” or “white apple.”)
  • Best Jolly Rancher: watermelon
  • Honorary mention: FROOTIES, the fruit flavored Tootsie Rolls that look like leftover rations from the 1800s.

Still, Chrissy was not finished. She needed to deliver one final blow: “I’m trying to think of an instance when yellow or orange is good in the candy world.” She then agreed with one Twitter user that orange Tic Tacs are the exception to the yellow/orange rule.

So, if you’re looking for something benign to argue about at the holidays, why not make your family pick a side when it comes to candy flavors. Instead of saying grace, just scream "I THINK CANDY CORN IS GOOD ACTUALLY." Say that you’ll only give people their gifts if they agree that Golden Oreos are the worst Oreos. Take caroling as an opportunity to loudly proclaim which flavor of jelly bean is the best. (Say “popcorn.” I dare you.) If Chrissy can do it, so can you.

Women-Led Movies Do Better Than Male-Led Ones, According To A New Study

It wasn’t that long ago movie execs, when asked, would say they don’t make women-led films. There’s no money in them. This would be said out loud, in public, like it was a perfectly reasonable and moreover acceptable stance to take. Even when The Hunger Games and Frozen made bank at the box office, these were seen as outliers. Men, the conventional wisdom went, would only go see movies starring men. This is why it is such a vindication this week to see a study released declaring women-led movies do better than male-led ones.

An analysis of box office proceeds and audience attendance of films over the last five years conducted by Creative Artists Agency and technology company Shift7 found movies with females leads outperformed male lead films, not just in mid-range romcoms, but in all budgetary levels of film, from the smallest indie flick to the biggest budget superhero films at the box office.

According to Variety:

The study grew out of the Time’s Up movement last year and included such names as former Sony Pictures Chairman Amy Pascal as well as actress Geena Davis, who founded her own Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media after her experiences in the business.

Davis has been exploring this for nearly 15 years. In a statement on the findings, she said the following:

And it’s not just having women lead the films, but also having them talk about things important to them, aka, not about the male lead.

The report acknowledges the Bechdel Test is an extraordinarily low bar to clear. But it speaks volumes such a low bar is the standard of measurement, considering how many films have trouble with even such a minor level of independent thinking on the part of their female characters.

One can only hope Hollywood sits up and takes notice of this report. Marvel has already started working towards more female-led superhero films, and Wonder Woman 1984 is expected to arrive in 2020. But it would be good if production houses could begin making other types of genre films with female leads, for a more extensive array of films aimed towards a female audience. After all, according to the data, that’s where the money is.

Ryan Seacrest Credits Food for Shayna Taylor Romance

The old saying that “the fastest way to get into a man’s heart is through his stomach” apparently holds true for Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor. In a new magazine interview, the “American Idol” host opened up about his love life while his girlfriend admitted that the two of them shared “serious food chemistry.”

Echoing the same sentiment, the 43-year-old radio host recalled how he got drawn to the trained chef beyond her beauty. “It was the first time we were together, and she said, ‘I make these amazing gluten-free pancakes,’ and I said, ‘What?! Well, tell me everything!’ ” he gushed to People magazine, before adding, “That’s all it took for me to really fall.”

The couple was able to share their love of healthy food beyond the confinement of their home. Taylor, who runs food and wellness blog named “Shayna’s Kitchen”, has been appearing on “Live with Kelly and Ryan”, where Seacrest serves as a co-host, for several times to share recipes and cooking tips.

Food wasn’t the only thing that bonded the two of them, though. “For the last six months, we both wake up an hour earlier than we used to so we have time together to work out, take a walk, take our time without having to rush,” Seacrest said.

The couple, who broke up for a while in 2014, is now “very in sync,” according to Seacrest. “We had both matured,” Taylor added. That’s why, they decided to live together in 2017. “Moving to a new city together was fun because we were also having a new chapter together,” she continued. “Living together is easy.”

As for what they have planned for the future, Seacrest and Taylor are not thinking about wedding or children just yet. “Family is so important to me, and to Shayna as well,” Seacrest explained. “But I’ve always tried to put life into a master schedule with deadlines, and I don’t want to do that [with Shayna].” He went on to stress, “We both try to actually be in this moment, feel this connection, enjoy it and let it grow.”

Jason Momoa Did the Haka With His Kids at the Aquaman Premiere, and I May Never Recover

Jason Momoa’s at it again, folks. You might like to think you’ve sufficiently recovered from his Saturday Night Live striptease, and nothing can phase you anymore, but you’d better sit down for this. The 39-year-old actor kicked off the Aquaman Hollywood premiere on Dec. 12 with an intense haka performance with members of the cast, and his kids chanted right alongside him.

Jason’s no stranger to the traditional Maori haka. He took part in a chant with a group of shirtless fighters (mhmm, you read that right) while filming Aquaman in New Zealand, and even used the haka as part of his Game of Thrones audition. This performance was extra special, however, because his 11-year-old daughter Lola and 9-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf joined in, as his wife Lisa Bonet cheered them on from the side. Well that, and he broke his trident clean in half when the haka began. Watch the full chant in all its glory above, and then keep reading to catch it from different angles — if you dare. I recommend keeping smelling salts and something soft to land on nearby, just in case.

Prince Harry Reportedly Feels "Powerless" to Stop the Negative Meghan Markle Rumors

Amid all the (probably exaggerated) drama surrounding Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, Prince Harry is reportedly at a loss for what to do about it, and it’s putting some stress on his marriage.

“It has put pressure on her relationship with Harry. He’s very frustrated with how little can be done,” a source told Us Weekly. “Keeping her away from the negativity and harm has been hard for him. It’s been his purpose in their relationship to keep her away from the negativity.”

In case you haven’t been on the internet lately, countless reports have surfaced over the past couple weeks that Kate and Meghan are feuding. The palace has categorically denied them, but Meghan’s still taking a lot of heat for reportedly being “demanding” towards her staff.

This week, it was announced that another member of Meghan’s staff was leaving, which seemed to support the theory that Meghan was difficult to work with, even though Kate had similar staff turnover when she and Prince William got married.

If you’re looking for proof that all of these shenanigans are nonsense, you should know that not only do Kate, Will, Harry and Meghan keep in touch in a group chat, but they’ll be spending Christmas together, and Kate’s really pumped about Harry and Meghan’s baby. So yeah, it seems like all is well in Royal Land.
