I'm A Celebrity's Rita Simons cringes as she discovers her fart went viral

The former EastEnders actress cringed as her mum told her that the "hysterical" moment was everywhere, with Rita loudly breaking wind soon after entering the Australian jungle in November.

The star was filmed for spin-off show Coming Out after being booted from I'm A Celeb last week.

In the footage, Rita was seen asking her mum on the car journey to the hotel: "Was there a story in the press about me farting?"

The star's mum, Susan Miranda, replied: "That was everywhere, it was hysterical."

Rita put her head in her hands as she exclaimed: "The one time I do a big loud fart and it's on bloody national television!"

The pink-haired star had viewers in hysterics last month when she was overheard breaking wind following days of "stomach problems".

Rita confessed that she had been struggling with her bowels since arriving in Australia – also admitting that she was scared to do a "public poo" on the show.

However, nature soon called and moments after Rita excused herself to the camp's dunny The Vamps' James McVey and singer Fleur East heard a loud fart and promptly burst into hysterics.

Shaking off any embarrassment, Rita joined in with the laughter when she left the loo – asking her campmates: "How loud was that?"

Viewers applauded the comedic moment at the time, with one tweeting: "Rita farting on #ImACeleb, BEST TV EVER."

Another added: "This is why Rita is the queen of the jungle already!!"

A third quipped: "Rita that was fantastic. She will never live that down.

"Also, why are farts so funny? Even when you're a fully grown adult farts are just hilarious."

Rita was paid around £100,000 for her stint in the jungle, with an insider previously telling The Sun Online: "Rita is a big name, everyone knows Roxy Mitchell from EastEnders and she’s perfect for the show’s demographic."

The actress finished in 8th place, with the series eventually being won by former football manager Harry Redknapp.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Return to ‘Supernatural’ as John Winchester – See Fans’ Reaction

Rejoice, “Supernatural” fans! After a decade, The CW series has announced that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be returning to the series, reprising his role as John Winchester, the father of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles).

His return is to commemorate the 300th episode of the series. “The Walking Dead” star is set to make an appearance in an episode titled “Lebanon”.

“We’re incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character… and a few other surprise guest stars,” executive producer Andrew Dabb says in a statement.

Fans must have remembered that John was last seen in season 2 finale titled “All Hell Breaks Loose: Part 2” back in 2008. The episode saw John, who appeared in a total of 12 episodes beginning with the first season in 2005, escaped through the open gate to hell before helping his sons kill Yellow Eyes.

John himself died in season 2 opener, “In My Time of Dying”, after he sacrificed himself to save Dean by making a deal with a demon.

Fans are definitely psyched over the news as they begin to flood social media to share their excitement. “@JDMorgan WILL BE BACK IN 300th #Supernatural EPISODE AND IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY AND EMOTIONAL ! #PapaWinchesterIsBack,” one fan tweets alongside a GIF of someone crying.

Another fan simply expresses her/his feling a clip from “Titanic” in which old Rose says, “It’s been 84 years,” alluding to how fans have to wait for 10 years to see Papa Winchester coming back to the series. “Daddy’s coming home !!!!” one other echoes, posting a GIF of excited Dean and Sam that accurately describes their feelings.

“Lebanon”, the episode featuring Morgan, will air on Thursday, February 7 at 8 P.M. on The CW.

‘The Conners’ Fans React To Dan’s Chance For A Red-Hot Romance With Katey Sagal’s Louise

The Conner patriarch stays devoted to his late wife and passes on a hookup with a woman from his past, but fans think it’s time to move on.

Dan Conner still has a thing for his wife. Months after the sudden death of Roseanne Barr’s sitcom character, Roseanne Conner on the hit ABC reboot, her widower (played by John Goodman) has no interest in hooking up with another woman—even if it’s with a former high school hottie.

In the most recent Conners episode titled “O Sister, Where Art Thou?” Katey Sagal guest-starred as Louise, a former high school classmate of Dan’s and the late Roseanne. Louise has returned to Lanford after a failed music career and now works as a bartender at Casa Bonita, the same Mexican restaurant Becky Conner (Lecy Goranson) works at.

In the new episodes, sparks fly as Dan and Louise talk music and make plans to go to an oldie’s concert together, but the clueless dad of three doesn’t realize he’s being hit on until his daughter tells him.

“I can’t believe you didn’t pick up on it,” Louise later tells a stunned Dan. “Every time you walk in here I’m staring at you like you’re a deep-dish pizza. Let me help figure it out: We’re both free, we like each other. I’ve had a crush on you since I was 15, but Roseanne already had her brand on you.”

Katey Sagal and John Goodman in a scene from The Conners episode "O Sister, Where Art Thou?"

In the end, Dan admits he still has “a thing” for his wife and he lets Louise down easy, but the duo’s chemistry is undeniable as they share a love of classic rock music and their high school hometown.

After the episode aired, fans of The Conners took to Twitter to react to the missed love connection. Many fans think seasoned sitcom star Katey Sagal (Married With Children, 8 Simple Rules) would be the perfect match for John Goodman’s Dan Conner. You can see some of the fan reaction below.

It’s not a total surprise that Dan Conner would remain devoted to his late wife. The TV couple was married for more than 40 years and even celebrated their 45th anniversary on the cut-short Roseanne reboot earlier this year. Unfortunately, Roseanne Barr’s real-life, ill-fated tweet killed off her character, and now Dan is alone.

After Barr was fired by ABC, John Goodman admitted to UK’s Sunday Times that he went into a depression when the Roseanne reboot was canceled and later rebranded as The Conners sans the family matriarch. Of Dan Conner’s future in the new series, Goodman said, “I guess he’ll be mopey and sad because his wife’s dead.”

You can see sparks flying between John Goodman and Katey Sagal in The Conners clip below.

‘The Walking Dead’ Star Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Return to ‘Supernatural’ for 300th Episode

A “Supernatural” family reunion is scheduled.
With the CW series approaching its 300th episode, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is partaking in the milestone celebration. The “Walking Dead” actor is set to reprise his role for an upcoming episode, Deadline reports.
Morgan will again play John Winchester, the father of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). He has portrayed the character in 12 episodes already, over the course of several seasons. John first appeared in the pilot and he was later killed in Season 2, but his character has still managed to pop in on occasion.
His upcoming return is only a piece of what producers have up their sleeves for the big episode.
“We’re incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character… and a few other surprise guest stars,” said Executive Producer Andrew Dabb in a statement, per Deadline.
Morgan continues to star as the violent villain Negan on AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” but as Dabb says, his guest spot on “Supernatural” will be a nice treat for fans.
The 300th episode is titled “Lebanon,” and it airs Thursday, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

I'm A Celeb's Emily Atack crams cheese wedge in her mouth and Fleur East scoffs 21 pieces of KFC for first meal after jungle rations

The pair were filmed devouring their first meal following their eliminations for the reality show's spin-off programme Coming Out.

Former X Factor winner Fleur, 31, finished in fourth place and chose a monster bucket of KFC after almost three weeks of jungle rations.

The star was joined by her lookalike sister Keshia as they stopped off for fried chicken on their way to the hotel – ordering two 21-piece buckets between them.

Fleur looked overjoyed as she tucked into the feast, with the star then squealing in delight as she checked into her luxury hotel room.

Meanwhile, actress Emily, 28, who finished in second place after losing to former football manager Harry Redknapp – managed to wait until she got to the hotel before celebrating with a cheese platter.

She was filmed cramming a large wedge into her mouth as she vowed to "never take these things for granted again".

Emily claimed it was the best tasting cheese she'd ever had, joking that she had to make sure she didn't "put on 25 stone over Christmas".

However, the star previously revealed she'd lost weight after just seven days on the rice and beans jungle diet.

After a mere seven days in the jungle, the Inbetweeners star pulled up her top and showed off her baggy trousers as she admired her slimmer stomach and extra wriggle room.

She told Fleur and fellow campmate John Barrowman at the time: "These were tight when I came in here.

"I just want to lose a bit of weight so that when I get home and it's Christmas I have a bit of room and can put it back on again."

Emily also previously confessed that she is not a fan of healthy eating and exercise – even claiming that her favourite workout is sex.

The star explained: "To be honest the only exercise I enjoy is sex – apparently it burns off the equivalent of a Mars bar.

"I could do with losing a few pounds off my bum, but I enjoy my social life and going out for dinner far too much to have the nicest bum in the world."

Both she and Fleur also had fans in hysterics during their I'm A Celeb stint when they made up a song about loving their curves.

It all started earlier this month when Emily told Fleur that she was "looking skinny".

The singer replied: "Don’t say that, I like my curves, I don’t want to be a skinny minny."

She then starting singing: "I don’t want to be a skinny minny, I like the curves on my body, I like my bum, I like my thighs…"

Emily joined in laughing and dancing with Fleur and singing about liking her attributes too, adding: "I like my breasts, they are very nice."

Former Desperate Housewives Star Josh Henderson Arrested on Burglary Charge

Actor Josh Henderson has been arrested on a burglary charge, PEOPLE confirms.

The former Desperate Housewives star, 37, was arrested for a felony charge of burglary and booked at 4:03 a.m. on Tuesday by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Los Angeles County jail records show that Henderson was released later that morning on a $50,000 bail. His court date is listed as Jan. 3, 2019.

Henderson’s reps did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.

TMZ reports that Henderson’s neighbors came home this weekend to find about $7,000 worth of jewelry missing. The neighbors reportedly called the cops and said they had surveillance footage of the alleged crime. They claimed the footage showed Henderson and two other men.

Sources told TMZ that Henderson’s arrest was a case of mistaken identity.

“Josh was initially mistakenly identified with a grainy security camera, but he is fully cooperating and evidence is now being presented to the authorities showing he had nothing to do with any of this,” a source said. “Josh is innocent and we are confident he will be cleared very quickly.”

Henderson recently starred in Hallmark’s movie Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas. His previous acting credits include The Arrangement, Dallas, Desperate Housewives and Step Up.

Arrowverse's Elseworlds crossover was almost called Identity Crisis

The Arrowverse producers almost named this year’s “Elseworlds” crossover after another popular (and somewhat controversial) DC Comics event.

As you probably know by now, the three-night event’s title comes from the DC imprint that features “What if?” stories about the publisher’s pantheon heroes. Set outside of continuity, these stories imagined crazy ideas like, “What if Superman actually landed in the USSR?” or “What if Batman hunted Jack the Ripper in Victorian Lodon?” Given that the Arrow-Flash-Supergirl crossover was about Oliver/Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and Barry/The Flash (Grant Gustin) swapping lives, it’s easy to understand why they chose “Elseworlds” as a title because it essentially poses the question, “What if Barry was Oliver and Oliver was Barry?”  However, it turns out that the crossover producers had an initially far more apropos name in mind.

In this exclusive clip from the forthcoming “Inside the Crossover: Elseworlds” bonus feature, Arrow consulting producer Marc Guggenheim reveals that the crossover was almost called “Identity Crisis,” which is also the name of Brad Meltzer and Rags Morales's 2004 limited series. And the fact that it shared a name with another story that looms large for DC fans is why they decided not to do it.

“The problem is that ‘Identity Crisis’ is another different iconic DC story. While the title would work perfectly for this, it would really be false advertising, because we’re obviously not doing the Brad Meltzer, Rags Morales Identity Crisis story,” says Guggenheim, who wrote the Arrow hour the crossover with Batwoman‘s Caroline Dries, in the clip. And he’s right, Identity Crisis definitely isn’t about a wacky body swap.

In the seven-issue series, Green Arrow, the Flash, Atom, Hawkman, Zatana, Black Canary, and Green Lantern team-up to find out who murdered Elongated Man’s wife Sue Dibny. Their investigation and quest for revenge ends up bringing several dark and traumatic secrets about the Justice League of America to light, specifically that the Teen Titans villain Doctor Light infiltrated the Watchtower and raped Sue many years ago, and that the aforementioned group of heroes (save Flash) decided to erase his memory and alter his personality. Not only that, but it was revealed that they used this tactic on others, including Batman, because stories about the good guys making morally questionable decisions were big in the mid-aughts. While Identity Crisis has its fans, it has also been criticized for having an unnecessary amount of violence against women (a.k.a. fridging) and for being grim-dark just for the sake of darkness.

Although this year’s crossover obviously ended up not using the title because Elseworlds was not that story, Guggenheim and the other producers don’t rule out ever adapting it later down the line. “Maybe one day,” says Guggenheim.

Once they passed on “Identity Crisis” as a title, they returned to the drawing board. “We had a list of titles that could work, and I think we all kind of gravitated towards ‘Elseworlds.’” he says.

Even though this year’s crossover wasn’t named after one of DC’s crises, next year’s will be. Last night, the Supergirl hour of “Elseworlds” revealed at that the 2019 crossover will be called “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” which is the name of one of DC’s most iconic and game-changing crossover events and has been teased on the Arrrowverse since The Flash‘s pilot.

The full “Inside the Crossover: Elseworlds” special feature will be included with any season pass purchase of The Flash: Season 5, Supergirl: Season 4, and Arrow: Season 7 on Friday, Dec. 14.

The Flash returns Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 8 p.m.; Supergirl returns Sunday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m.; and Arrow returns Monday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. on The CW.

Ben Is Back Gives Julia Roberts One of the Best Roles of Her Career — REVIEW

Ben Is Back gives Julia Roberts one of the finest roles of her career as Holly Burns, a mother with unfailing love for (and hope in) her drug-addicted son, 19-year-old Ben (Manchester by the Sea’s Lucas Hedges).

Taking place over 24 frigid hours at Christmastime in upstate New York, the film — which was both written and directed by Hedges’s dad, Peter — veers from family drama to nervy thriller as Ben returns home unexpectedly and upends his mom’s life (drug dealers from the past come knocking).

Fresh from her terrific work on the Amazon series Homecoming, Roberts delivers an emotionally raw performance. Holly’s dawning realization of the horrors of Ben’s former life is heartbreaking to watch, but this gives way to a growing ferocity as Holly resolves to keep her son safe.

Golden Kamuy Season 3 release date: OVA 2 episode confirmed for 2019 – Golden Kamuy manga compared to the anime and Satoru Noda interview [Spoilers for Sugimoto, Asirpa, Nopperabou]

Hinna, hinna! Golden Kamuy Season 3 is a necessity for anime fans wanting to consume more episodes. Especially after Episode 24 blew audiences’ brains, fans want to watch the end of the quest of Ainu girl Asirpa and Saichi “The Immortal” Sugimoto.

Thankfully, there is just enough source material available for creating a third season sooner rather than later.

In the third season, Sugimoto will be searching for Asirpa all over the Karafuto area while being chased (multiple times) by vicious wolverines. There will be Russian wall fighters, traveling performer troupes, harakiri acts, samurai showdowns, and the history and true motives of Asirpa’s father will be revealed.

Already, a Golden Kamuy OVA episode has been confirmed to be coming out soon. The release date is scheduled for March 19, 2019 (see below for more details). But when will Geno Studio be given the green light for producing Golden Kamuy Season 3?

Golden Kamuy’s creator Satoru Noda is almost as quirky as his creation

Golden Kamuy may be an epic action anime but it’s not necessarily a story of good versus evil. The interesting characters all have their own competing motivations for their actions and the plot always keeps audiences guessing what may happen next.

The intensity is balanced out by crazy comedy, history, Ainu culture moments, and the occasional step into Food Wars territory. Thoroughly underrated, the catchphrase is “a Western where you never know what you’ll get” and it could be argued it’s a Tarantino movie in the form of an anime.

The clash between Japanese and Ainu culture is a pivotal part of the series. Creator Satoru Noda is not an Ainu himself but he’s a Hokkaido native so he researched and interviewed the Ainu people for about a year before starting the manga.

“The only request I got is, ‘Don’t make Ainu pathetic beings, and draw strong Ainu,’” Noda said. “I always try to depict characters fairly and carefully to render (the way Ainu people lived) as faithfully as possible.”

The anime production staff traveled to Hokkaido and worked with the experts to make certain they got the details correct. What’s more, the original creator provided oversight for the project.

The story for the anime is based on the Golden Kamuy manga series, which was originally intended to be a story about hunting in Hokkaido. From the beginning, Noda had planned on incorporating cooking elements.

“I think ‘hunting’ includes everything from catching an animal and eating the meat, using the fur and bone to make daily goods, to selling the goods to get money. So depiction of food was naturally part of it. … But if it’s only about hunting, I would quickly run out of materials, so I decided to throw in various other elements,” he explained.

Noda was also inspired by the fact that his great-grandfather took part in the Russo-Japanese war but it quickly evolved into… something else. His editor was excited when Noda pitched the concept, saying, “This is it!” Everything clicked into place and Noda recalls being certain the manga would be successful in its first run.

“There is no way it doesn’t sell!” he said.

Like many of his characters, Noda is something of an odd duck. He’s tried eating many things including badgers brains, which are supposedly hinna-hinna. When the characters react to different foods their reaction is usually based on how Noda himself reacted.

But it’s not just the weird foods that make this creator a little odd. Noda seriously once said in an interview that his favorite scent is “cat’s balls” and that Marilyn Manson was his favorite imaginary creature.

He also claimed that if he was forced to spend 1 million yen in a single day then he’d buy “penis enlargement surgery that’s worth 1 million yen.” Noda does not consider himself evil, but he admits he’s the type of guy who will walk his dog and not clean up the osoma.

Golden Kamuy manga compared to the anime

The manga has been serialized weekly in Weekly Young Jump magazine since August 2014 and the series is currently up to Volume 15. The next volume is scheduled to be released in Japan on December 19, 2018. Golden Kamuy Volume 17 will come out on March 19, 2019.

VIZ Media has been publishing the English translation of the Golden Kamuy manga series. The English manga was up to Volume 7 as of December 18, 2018. Volume 8 is scheduled to release on February 9, 2019, while Volume 9 will come out on April 16, 2019.

— Golden Kamuy Central (@KamuyCentral) December 11, 2018

Like many anime, Golden Kamuy condensed the story by skipping some chapters and certain scenes. However, some funny moments were released online on YouTube as animated 30-second shorts while lengthier story arcs were released as OVA episodes (see below for more details).

The ending of the first season lined up roughly with Chapter 62, but Episode 12 also summarized future elements in order to create a solid stopping point. Golden Kamuy Season 2 picked up the story again with Chapter 70, which meant that several stories of escaped convicts were skipped entirely.

The second season is significantly faster-paced in comparison to the first but that’s because Geno Studio is apparently trying to reach a shocking, critical plot juncture involving Sugimoto and Nopperabou, Asirpa’s father.

Episode 22: On The Night Of The New Moon is named after manga Chapter 128 and covers the story events up through Chapter 130. Based on the pacing of the anime thus far, it appears that Golden Kamuy Episode 24 will find an ending somewhere around Chapter 138 of Volume 14.

The bad news is that the manga currently does not provide enough source material for immediately creating Golden Kamuy Season 3. In addition, U.S. fans will also have to wait years until the official English manga catches up with the anime.

The good news is that the manga is released weekly, so it’s conceivable that there will be more than enough chapters available for creating a third season by the end of 2019. Impatient English-reading fans can turn to unofficial fan-made scanlation projects, which are not too far behind the official Japanese release.

Note: This article was initially published before Golden Kamuy Season 2 Episode 12 aired in Japan and will be updated.

Golden Kamuy OVA episodes continue the story

The anime has been covering missed story arcs with Golden Kamuy OVA episodes. In September 2018, manga Volume 15 came bundled with the first OVA episode.

The Original Video Anime showcased skipped story events from the Barato story arc in Volume 6, which included a battle between the sniper Ogata Hyakunosuke and Bakumatsu hero Hijikata Toshizo.

Golden Kamuy OVA 2 will be all about Escape King Yoshitake Shiraishi. OVA 2 will ship with manga Volume 17 on March 19, 2019.

In addition to adopting, Chapter 104 with an included mini-episode, the 24-minute OVA called I Escaped Because I Fell in Love depicts Shiraishi’s backstory from Volume 9 that the main anime skipped. The OVA is being advertised as a “pure love story” about the wily character.

Escape King Yoshitake Shiraishi is the focus of all the new stories being released in 2019. – Pic credit: Geno StudioThe Escape King will get even more love when the first of the Season 2 Blu-Ray and DVD home video releases on January 30, 2019. Those who pre-order will receive an audio drama CD which includes an original story by creator Noda Satoru.

The story will give more details about Shiraishi’s love of jailbreaking and how he came to be so skilled. It will describe how the Escape King encountered the other convicts in Abashiri and decided to join their plan.

Golden Kamuy Season 3 release date

As of the last update, Geno Studio or any company related to the production of the anime has not officially confirmed the Golden Kamuy Season 3 release date. Nor has the production of a sequel been announced.

Once the news is officially confirmed this article will be updated with the relevant information. In the meantime, it’s possible to speculate about when, or if, the Golden Kamuy Season 3 premiere date will occur in the future.

Financially, the anime Blu-Ray and DVD sales have been doing well enough but not amazing. Assuming the second season stays on course a third season is justifiable. The manga itself has also sold over three million copies in just 2018 alone.

A live Golden Kamuy event is planned for July 2019. It will feature guest appearances by the voice actors and musicians The Sixth Lie will perform the ED theme song. Perhaps the event will be the golden opportunity for news about Golden Kamuy Season 3 being greenlit for production?

Golden Kamuy Season 3 spoilers

The manga’s story seemingly has a long ways to go. There are 24 Abashiri convicts tattooed with the map leading to the gold and although more than half have been collected, Asirpa is the only person capable of deciphering the coded skins. Although the treasure quest seemingly is getting closer to an ending, Noda has way more craziness in store for anime audiences.

Noda once explained how he comes up with these crazy scenarios.

“I think things that occur to us suddenly can also be easily expected by readers, so I drive myself to a corner, and before I’m cornered, I find an escape route that is unexpected,” he said. “Contrary to expectations, what’s needed is the boldness to create s**t, not to create the highest-grade curry prepared from various high-class ingredients.”

In addition to being bold, the ending of the second season was probably unexpected. Wilk was not so lucky, but the plot armored Immortal Sugimoto miraculously survives being shot in the head by Ogata but now Asirpa is missing.

The Ainu girl is traveling on a ship toward Karafuto with Kiroranke’s group. Sugimoto declares he will find Asirpa and kill Ogata and Kiroranke. He tracks them to Oodomari and begins asking around for anyone who has seen an Ainu girl.

A shop owner points them in the direction of an Ainu village where they meet a Karafuto Ainu girl named Enonoka (lingonberry). The girl tells them she had seen a Hokkaido Ainu girl, but before she could say more they are attacked by a hopefully not CGI bear… and then a wolverine attack turns into a sled chase!

Enonoka’s help leads them to a village full of Russian people. While they’re in a Russian bar, their lead sled dog is stolen and the only way to get it back is for Sugimoto to participate in a Stenka na Stenku (wall on wall). It’s a form of Russian fist-fighting where teams of half-naked men form a human wall to fight against other human walls based on varying rules.

A large bespectacled man Gansoku Maiharu has turned the Russian entertainment into a gambling pool and it turns out he’s an escaped tattooed convict. All of the Japanese soldiers are galvanized into forming a Stenka team when someone declares that the Japanese cannot possibly beat the Russians.

The Japanese begin doing well in multiple Stenka fights yet they’re told to throw a match. Meanwhile, Sugimoto is trying to lure Gansoku into the Stenka. Sugimoto’s plan causes an all-out brawl to break out, which then turns into a foot chase and yet another wolverine attack. Somehow the chaos results in all the men being forced to relax in a Russian steam bath called a banya.

After a third wolverine chase (does this thing ever give up?), a fight between a berserk Sugimoto and Gansoku causes Sugimoto to confront his feelings about being “useless” to his friends. A plunge into freezing ice water brings Sugimoto to his senses and he convinces the Senka fighter to help.

Gansoku tells Sugimoto that he overheard Asirpa and Shiraishi talking and they believe he’s alive since he’s “immortal”. While this is good news, it’s not long in their travels before running into trouble in Toyohara when a kid steals Sugimoto’s bag with Gansoku’s tattoo inside it.

Meanwhile, Kiroranke’s group had been hunting sea lions. They visit a fox breeding farm and Asirpa is shocked when Kiroranke reveals that her father Wilk had been in a nearby Ainu village. Most of the Ainu in Wilk’s village moved to Hokkaido because of a territory exchange between Russia and Japan, but Wilk had stayed because his father was Polish.

Asirpa is beginning to question her father’s motives. Wilk may have taught her survival training and hunting, but he was secretly grooming her to become a freedom fighter against the Japanese government. Kiroranke claims that he and Wilk are fighting for the independence of ethnic minority groups in the far east.

Kiroranke is hoping that by allowing Asirpa to discover more about Wilk and her family that she will be willing to give up the code necessary to decipher the tattooed skins. He doesn’t want to force Asirpa and instead hopes she’ll cooperate of her own volition.

By Chapter 149, Tsukishima’s past is revealed. He was the son of a murderer and a girl with unruly hair named Igogusa was the only person who treated him right on his home island of Sado.

When Tsukishima fought in the war, he communicated with Igogusa via letters but then the letters stopped coming. Without spoiling the story, the Japanese soldier goes home to untangle a web of lies, murder, and marriage.

The story then focuses on the elderly Manslayer Youichirou (Shinzou Doi) and Hijitaka Toshizou. Events conspire to create a confrontation where the two old samurais have one final showdown.

Getting back to Sugimoto, chasing the young thief ends with him running into a magician named Choukichi. Sugimoto gets the idea to create a traveling show that would cause Asirpa to learn that Sugimoto is alive and nearby. Called Sugimoto the Immortal’s harakiri act, the show uses a trick sword with fake blood. And thus Sugimoto and his friends find themselves part of the traveling Yamada Troupe.

The harakiri act eventually goes horribly wrong when the fake sword is swapped out with a real one. Things get even more complicated when Russian operatives and Japanese spies become involved. In the end, Sugimoto’s group ends up learning about Alexandrovskaya Prison and it’s believed Kiroranke may be heading there to break out certain inmates.

The story continues in this vein with audiences learning about the Orok people and Russian history. Reindeer hunting turns into a duel with a Russian sniper. There is an opportunity for Shiraishi and Asirpa to run away, but Asirpa stays because she wants to know more about her father Wilk and why he became Nopperabou.

But it’s quite the journey since manga readers really don’t find out too much more until Chapter 177 and beyond. The truth behind Kiroranke will eventually be revealed and events culminate in yet another prison break… that’s complicated by a tiger?!

Eventually, Sugimoto should catch up with Asirpa and a confrontation will result. Unfortunately, anime fans will need to wait until the Golden Kamuy Season 3 release date to watch what happens next. Stay tuned!
